Nayantara and her Super hero Upendra share the same birth date. Nayantara was also born on 18th, but she was born on 18th November 1984 at Bengaluru. She is a Malayali chiristian born as Diana Mariam Kurian who became Nayantara after she entered the film industry.
Though she is appearing in the Kannada film industry for the first time in Upendra directed untitled film she has already acted in several hit films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu films. She debuted in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare, before starring in Tamil and Telugu-language films, alongside popular lead actors.
Following several commercial successes such as Chandramukhi, Ghajini, Billa Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Boss Engira Bhaskaran in Tamil, Lakshmi, Dubai Seenu, Tulasi, Simha and Adurs in Telugu and Body guard in Malayalam she has established herself as one of the leading actresses in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries.
Nayantara is the first heroine to have charged a crore as remuneration in the history of South Indian cinema.
Nayantara was spotted, while she was still in college, by director Sathyan Anthikkad, who cast her opposite Jayaram in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare. Later, she co-starred alongside Mohanlal in Natturajavu and in Fazil's Vismayathumbathu. She was also cast with Mammootty in Thaskaraveeran and Raapakal. It was in 2005, she got a big break in the Tamil film industry when she bagged the offer to work in Ayya with Sharat Kumar as the hero. Later she was lucky enough to be paired with Super Star Rajnikanth in Chandramukhi which was a remake of Kannada hit Dr. Vishnuvardhan starrer Aaptha Mithra.
