Pooja Gandhi's first film as a producer, 'Abhinetri' being directed by debuante Satish Pradhan has been censored with U/a certificate. Censor members have given 11 dialogue mute and two shots cut and have told to put as imaginary story and not related to anyone. With the clearance from the censor committee in hand, Pooja Gandhi intends to release the film later this month.
'Abhinetri' is in the news for many reasons right from the launch. First it was being said that the film was based on the tragic life of actress Kalpana. However, Pooja denied the news saying that it is a fictitious story. Later, novelist Bhagya Krishnamurthy filed a case against Pooja and the team saying that the film is based on her novel 'Abhinetriya Antaranga' and Pooja has not got prior permission from her.
Pooja challenged this at the High Court and after seeing the film as well as reading the book, the Court gave a clean chit for Pooja Gandhi and told that the film has nothing to do with the novel. Meanwhile, Pooja had said that the film is based on the life of actress Kalpana.
'Abhinetri' stars Pooja Gandhi along with Ravishankar, Atul Kulkarni, Makrand Deshpande and others. Manomurthy has scored the music for this film.
