Upendra's new film which is being directed by Srinivasaraju and produced by C R Manohar is all set to be recognised and released with a symbol as the title. Srinivasaraju has himself declared this in a press meet on Saturday evening.
Earlier, the film was titled as 'Basavanna'. However, the title created a lot of uproar from the public for various reasons and even former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa urged in the Legislative Assembly that the title must be changed as it is derrogatory. After a lot of criticism, Srinivasaraju accepted to change the title of the film. Srinivasaraju continued shooting without a name and finally he has decided to name the film with a symbol.
Speaking during the press conference, ''Basavanna' is very apt for the film. But we had to face a lot of criticisms for that. So, I have named the film with a symbol. Let the people decide what would be the title of the film' said Srinivasaraju.
