Actor-director Vijay Raghavendra has silently enacted the role of acclaimed musician Pandit Puttaraj Gawai in a new film called 'Shivayogi Puttaiah' which is based on the life and times of Puttaraj Gawai. Late actor Vishwavijetha's daughter Hamsavijetha has directed the film.
Earlier, Vijay Raghavendra had enacted the role of the young Panchakshari Gawai in the film 'Ganayogi Panchakshari Gawai'. Panchakshari Gawai was the mentor of Pandit Puttaraj Gawai and it was he, who taught Hindustani music to Puttaraj Gawai.
Apart from Vijay Raghavendra, Shruthi, Abhijith, Shashikumar, Bhavyashri Rai and others have acted in the film which has already been shot in Gadag, Badami, Pattadakallu and other places. The film is likely to be released in the month of June.
