Dwarakish has started off a new film in this year 2012 which is his 50th year in the Kannada film industry. The film is presented by him and Ashok Kheny which will be made under the banner of Dwarakish Chitra. His son Yogi Dwarakish is the executive producer of the film.
Priyamani is the heroine of the film. (Is she playing a double role in the film? At least the posters gave an impression like that). After the muhurath on the Ugadi festival day morning, a press meet was organised to give details about the film. The film's producers Dwarakish, Yogish, the director P.Kumar, heroine Priyamani, film's hero Skanda, actress Seetha were present in the meet. Priyamani said that she felt delighted when the second offer came to her from Dwarakish productions which had given her a good opportunity in Vishnuvardhana where she had performed an important role.
'The film's success has made me happy because I feel that my decision to take on a challenging role has been accepted by the audience' says Priyamani.
Talking about her title role in Charulatha, Priyamani said that she was briefed by director V.Kumar and was really blown over by the script of her. She felt the film would be one more turning point in her career. V.Kumar who had earlier directed Vishnuvardhana said that he was happy that one more offer has come to him from the Dwarakish Productions. HE said that the script of Charulatha has been inspired by a foreign film which was in thriller genre. '"I started writing the script many years ago, but the script took the final shape after the completion of the Vishnuvardhana shoot. The film has many seat edge sequences and thrilling moments' said Kumar. The film will be released on the Varamahalakshmi festival day.
