Enter the season of the holidays and many films are making a rush for release. There are as many as 25 films in the queue for release and the next three months will witness as many as three films getting released per week. The fans of Kannada films are sure in for a treat.
But the question is where have the stars gone? All the films which are in the queue are either of newcomers or lesser known heroes. Except for Sudeep movie Bachchan releasing on 11th, Darshan who is waiting to get his ‘Bulbul’ released in May and Shivarajkumar’s ‘Kaddipudi’ which may release in May or June, none of the big heroes have literally any films for release.
Firstly, Puneeth Rajkumar has signed a film called ‘Ninnindale’, but the shooting for the film will commence only in June as Puneeth is busy with ‘Kannadada Kotyadipathi’. Sudeep has given a nod to act in Yogaraj Bhatt’s film but the film will be launched in the third or fourth week of May. Upendra’s ‘Topiwala’ is doing average business and the actor has signed another film with R Chandru and the film will also start in May or June. After ‘Kaddipudi’, Shivarajkumar has to wait for a long time as ‘Bhajarangi’ is still in the shooting stage and ‘Aryan’ is yet to be launched. Ravichandran has finished the shooting of ‘Crazy Star’ and the film will take some time to get released as it has to undergo the post-production stage.
While this is the case of the first line heroes, heroes among the second line have a few releases. Ganesh is looking forward for ‘Auto Raja’, Ajay Rao has ‘Advaitha’, Diganth is waiting for ‘Burfee’, and Prem has ‘Shatru’ and ‘Chandra’. Even ‘Duniya’ Vijay who is through with the release of ‘Rajanikantha’ is yet to sign another film. Though sources say, he has signed a film called ‘Shivajinagara’ it may take some time for the film’s launch.
There may be many films for release this year, but the stars are missing in action. The action may start only the year end or may be carried for the next year.
