Om, is perhaps the best film of director Upendra and actor Shiva Rajkumar. The film, produced by the Rajkumar family is one of the biggest achievers in the box office. The film, first released in 1995, also holds the record for being released innumerable times after that. At any given day, the film has been running in at least one theatre somewhere in Karnataka in the last 18 years.
The cult status of the film is also enhanced by the fact that it has never been telecast on television. However, in the last few days there have been rumours that the satellite rights of the film has been sold for Rs 8 crore.
