The Tamil Nadu Government on Monday granted permission to increase the seating capacity in single screens and multiplexes from the existing 50 percent to 100 percent with immediate effect.
The Central Government had granted permission to screen films in theaters from the 15th of October with 50 percent capacity following Covid-19 protocols. Though film screening across India started, many producers feared to release their films as the audience was very less. Recently, actor Vijay had requested Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Yedappadi Palaniswamy to allow 100 percent occupancy in theaters.
The team of Vijay starrer 'Master' had also announced the release of the film during the Pongal season. Ahead of the release, the TN Government has granted permission to increase the seating capacity to 100 percent. The permission was granted through a notification.
