Around thirty year ago, Muralikrishna had produced several movies such as Bala Nauke, Hrudaya Samrajya, Karnana Sampattu for which his brother Shantaram was the director. He now now returns to the silver screen as director for Gara which marks the debut of Bollywood star comedian Johnny Lever in a special role.
Apart from Johnny Lever, another Bollywood's renowned choreographer Saroj Khan is also part of Gara.
Inspired by R K Narayan's 'An Astrologer's Day’, a suspense short story, Muralikrishna, who is also an advocate by profession has webbed an unique story which talks about good and bad qualities in a person.
About his directorial debut, he says that when he faced hurdles over the distribution of a movie, he studied law and it eventually turned out to be his profession. He shares that he learnt the much needed skills of direction from a renowned film institute from Hyderabad before taking up Gara.
Apart from Johnny Lever, Gara also features Sadhu Kokila, TV journalist turned actor Rehman, Pradeep Aryan, Neha Patil, Tabala Naani, V Manohar in the lead roles. Gara also makes the debut of Sagar Gururaj, son of popular musician Gururaj and playback singer Manjula Gururaj, as composer.
Gara is scheduled for release on April 26.
