In a sigh of relief to actors and filmmakers who have turned politicians and are gearing up to take part and contest in the upcoming General elections in the state scheduled in April, the Election Commission has clarified that there is no ban on the commercial release of films which involves and features such actors.
With this, the decks are cleared for the theatrical release of films featuring Real Star Upendra, Prakash Raj, Sumalatha Ambareesh and Nikhil Kumaraswamy. However, the election commission has made it clear that films featuring such actors should not be telecasted on the visual media controlled by the government.

Also, actress Sumalatha Ambareesh who stars in Daughter of Parvathamma, Real Star Upendra in I Love You and scores of movies of Prakash Raj in Tamil and Telugu movies are all ready for commercial releases.
