With stern warning that the actor shall not involve himself in any criminal acts in future and that he shall mend his behaviour, a City Civil and Sessions Court on Monday granted bail to Duniya Vijay.

The judge T P Ramalinge Gowda pronounced his verdict granting bail to Vijay including three of his associates - Prasad, Mani and the driver Prasad in the assault case of a gym trainer.

All the accused including Vijay have been directed to not to tamper with the evidence and to cooperate with the investigation.

The actor had approached the court after a magistrate court refused to grant in him bail. He had sought for bail on the ground that Sec 326 of the IPC, which is to voluntarily cause grievous injuries by using dangerous weapons was inserted later while it was never mentioned in the FIR registered on the first occasion.

Moreover, the advocate for Vijay had argued that the victim has recovered well and has been discharged from the hospital which itself proves that it is not a case of grievous injury. 

The actor along with three of his associates were arrested and booked under various IPC sections for allegedly assaulting gym trainer Krishnamurthy at a body building competition and then abducting him from the venue.
