Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday sounded the clap for R Chandru's new film 'Lakshmana' starring debutante Anup in lead. Anup is the son of former minister H M Revanna and the event was well attended by many of ministers from the Siddaramaiah cabinet.
Revanna says he wanted his son to be a good engineer. However, Anup was much more interested in acting and wanted to become an actor. 'He wanted to become an actor and I encouraged him. He learnt Kungfu in China and acting in Chennai. He has also learnt dancing in Hyderabad and is ready to face camera. I have attended many of R Chandru's films muhurath and this time I told him to direct the film. He has taken the responsibility of launching him' said Revanna.
Chandru says he it is an youthful love story and has a message tucked in it. 'It is challenging to launch a newcomer. It is a big risk and I am ready to take the risk. I don't know whether the film will be a success. But I definitely try to make a good film. Anup has a lot of potential and has learnt Kunfgfu. I will try to make use of his talent' says Chandru.
Sugnan is the cameraman, while Jessie Gift is the music director. More details about the film are yet awaited.
