One of the three 'Kumars' of the Kannada film industry, Uday Kumjar, started his acting career with the film Bhagyodya in 1955. Kanagal Prabhakr Shastry, brother of Puttanna Kanagal, became a full-fledged film writer by writing the story, dialogues and songs for this film. In the same year, PB Srinivas sang a song for Rajkumar for the very first time in the film Ohileshwara.
