Hemareddy Malamma, which released in 1945, was jointly directed by S Soundarajan and BR Rao. The film was produced by Gubbi Veeranna and had music by the Telugu composer V Nagayya. Writer-director Ku Ra Seetarama Shastri made his film debut as an actor with this film.
D Shankar Singh and B Vittalacharya, who later started making films under the Mahatama Pictures banner were yet to become film makers. But, they were distributing films by this time. They made a good profit distributing Hemareddy Malamma. Well known theatre actor CB Mallappa also acted in this film.
