Chiranjeevi, that was made in Pune's Saraswati Studio was the first talkie film that came out of north Karnataka. Basavaraj Mansur, Malavalli Sundaramma, Aamirbai Karnataki, Mudaveedu Krishna Rao and Devudu Narasimha Shastri acted in this film.
The actors sang the songs themselves. In the backdrop of the Independence movement, the spinning wheel was shown in the film. Chiranjeevi released in Bangalore's Majestic theatre.
