The shooting work for the film Reddy Vs. Gowda produced by Kamar and directed by T.N. Nagesh is going on briskly in various places in Bengaluru. Anant Nag, Shashi Kumar and Rangayana Raghu play important roles in the film while two young artists Roopa Shri and Arya are playing important roles.
Reddy Vs. Gowda is a full length comedy oriented film which has no connections to the present day political scenario. "It does not have any political overtones and we have kept the title because the film will see confrontation between two characters Reddy and Gowda which are played by Rangayana Raghu and Shashi Kumar' says Nagesh. Sudha Belawadi plays another important role in the film.
According to the sources Reddy Vs Gowda title has been rejected by KFCC.
Darshan- Navya Nair - Rekha starrer Boss produced by Ramesh Yadav and directed by newbie director Raghu Raj will be hitting the screens on December 24, according to the film's distributor N. Kumar who has been assigned this responsibility by the film's financiers IDBI Bank.
"We are planning to release the film on December 24. The film's producer Ramesh Yadav wants to release the film in over one hundred theatres all around the state and we are planning to release the film in the refurbished theatre Menaka where there has been lot of improvements made in the infrastructural facilities. Now, the rental charged by the theatre is also another inducing factor for us to release the film in that theatre which we hope will once again become the jewel of the Kannada film industry as in the earlier days' said N.Kumar talking to Chitraloka portal.
Anyway, Darshan fans can heave a sigh of relief as the film will be ultimately getting released.
Nenapirali Prem's next film titled as Kettavanu will be launched in December this year. The film will be directed by debutant Priya who has finished her film direction course in the Film and Television Institute of India. The film will be produced by Raveendar who has now completed a film with Prem titled as I am Sorry, Maththe Banni Preethsonaa.
The other artists and technicians of the film are yet to be selected. Meanwhile Raveendar is now busy giving finishing touches for his film after which he will start promotional work for his directorial venture film.
Pooja Gandhi will be playing a doctor's role in the film Jai Hind, which has a story with patriotic overtones. The film is being produced by Major Sreenivas Poojar and directed by Venugopal.
Poojar's son who had already played the leading role in Ee Sambhashane is the hero of this film. The film was launched on November 4 in Bengaluru in presence of Karnataka Minister Shobha Karandajle and others. Veteran artist Doddanna clapped for the film.
Pooja described her role as supportive to the film's hero. "I am his wife and playing the role of a doctor. She is also part of the operation of her husband who wants to eliminate terrorists' said Pooja.
The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce along with other industry bodies like the Karnataka Film Producers Association and Karnataka Film Directors and Writers Association have decided to observe an Indefinite bundh of non-Kannada films in the State from December 1. Even the production activities of Kannada films will be stopped. Only the release of already completed Kannada films will be allowed.
The measure is in protest against the problems created by non-Kannada films for the local film industry and the telecast of dubbed films in private television channels.
Decision has also been made to boycott the International Film Festival of India to be held in Goa and the first ever film festival organised by the Kannada Film Academy from November 8.
