The High Court has issued notices to the film Victory's producer, director and music director along with the State and following a petition by 'Kannada' Kumar. He has claimed that the song Yakka Nin Magal, has been used without his permission.
However the court refused to give a stay on the screening of the film in theatres and said any order can be given only after the other parties are heard.
Actor turned politician B C Patil who is very famous for his role in 'Kaurava' is all set to make a sequel for the film, which gave him a lot of popularity when released in the late 1990s.
B C Patil was talking to media persons on Monday at his residence.
Patil says even today people remembers him for his role in 'Kaurava'. 'The film was released many years back. But still the people remembers me for that role. So, I am planning to do a sequel for the super hit film. S Mahendar who directed the original is writing the screenplay for the film. I am planning to take up the film once I and Mahendar finishes the prior commitments' said B C Patil.
Patil is currently acting in films like 'Ond Chance Kodi', 'Pungidasa' and others.
If everything had gone right then Upendra's protege Loki and Deepa Sannidhi would have been the director and heroine respectively of Upendra's new film 'Super Ranga'. But with a few days left for the launch, there was a sudden change in the director and heroine and Sadhu Kokila and Kriti Kharabanda replaced them in the last minute.
Why were they changed in the last minute? K Manju who is the producer of the film told in detail at the press meet about the changes and even asked sorry if he has hurt anybody's feelings.
'When we decided to start the film, Loki said he will direct the film. It was announced that he will be directing Upendra. But I wanted him to do another film and not this. I have told him to do a straight cinema and he will be directing a film for me in the coming days. As for as Deepa is concerned, we had to leave her because of date clash. Deepa is currently busy in another film and we want continuous dates from her for the film, because we are planning to release the film in December. So, we had to contact Kriti Kharabanda in the last minute. Even she was busy and had committed a Telugu film. But she gave the dates for this film' said Manju.
Narayan says he is very much over the delay of his directorial venture 'Appaiah' starring Srinagara Kitty. 'Once upon a time I was announcing the release date of my film, during the launch itself. But this time I am not able to do so. I have been trying to release 'Appaiah' for the past six months and still not able to do so. Every time I plan for release the film, an unknown force is stopping the release and that's why the film's release is getting delayed' said S Narayan.
Narayan says in his career of 22 years, this is the first time he is facing such a situation. 'In my career of 22 years, this is the first time I am struggling to release my film and I really don't know who is behind all this. I am not getting theatres for the release. I don't know who is controlling the theatres, but I am not getting theatres. Now I am planning to release the film on the 12th of September. Even this time, if I don't get proper theatres for the release of my film, then I will find out who is behind all this and expose the details before the media' said S Narayan.
If sources are to be believed then Ganesh starrer 'Sakkare' being produced by B Suresha and Radhika's 'Sweety' may compete with each other and is likely to release on the same day.
Both the films are now being scheduled for a September 13th release across Karnataka.
Earlier it was being said that 'Sakkare' will release on the 06th of September while 'Sweety' was scheduled for September 13th release. But it seems doubtful of 'Sakkare' to get released on 06th as the film has not yet got a Censor Board. The Censor is likely to watch the film next week, after which the film's release date will be announced offically. Sources say, if not on 06th, 'Sakkare' will be released on 13th hereby competing with 'Sweety'.
