The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce along with other industry bodies like the Karnataka Film Producers Association and Karnataka Film Directors and Writers Association have decided to observe an Indefinite bundh of non-Kannada films in the State from December 1. Even the production activities of Kannada films will be stopped. Only the release of already completed Kannada films will be allowed.

The measure is in protest against the problems created by non-Kannada films for the local film industry and the telecast of dubbed films in private television channels.

Decision has also been made to boycott the International Film Festival of India to be held in Goa and the first ever film festival organised by the Kannada Film Academy from November 8.
