Actor Sudeep has been advised immediate surgery to his knuckle on the right hand to prevent permanent damage. Doctors have told him that if he does not undergo surgery now, there are chances that there will be 20 per cent infirmity on the knuckle for life. Despite the warning, Sudeep has postponed the surgery and re-started shooting for his new film produced by N Kumar on Saturday in Hyderabad. After the report published by earlier today, Sudeep called up Chitraloka surprised that the news about the injury was out. He sustained the injury a week ago.
Stating his reason for not undergoing surgery immediately, Sudeep said, "Commitment to work comes before any pain. I know that there are chances of 20 per cent permanent damage if I don't undergo surgery. But imagine the problems to the producer if I postpone the shooting for one month. He has invested crores of Rupees. Ravichandran sir has a special getup for this film. The dates of every actor will go haywire. The losses will be immense. I will prefer to go ahead with my commitment to the work on hand than worry about losing the shape of the finger. My friend Ramakanth has come from Bangalore to do the psychotherapy and is with me even now"
Sudeep said there was pain in the hand but that would not put him off work. "I had not acted in a film for nine months now. If I wanted to make money, I could have acted in three films by now. I have promised to deliver the film on time to my producer and will keep my word come what may. If you remember, I had a fracture on my finger when the Celebrity Cricket League was on. Despite that I played the matches, kept wickets and gave my all. That was only because I had made a promise that our team will win the cup. I fulfilled the promise. Pain is part of our work. I can never think of escaping duty citing a body pain." The on-going shooting schedule is one month long and Sudeep has decided not to undergo surgery till it is over.
