Fans of Golden Star Ganesh have been extremely disappointed with the postponement of Eno Onthara in which the star is paired with Priyamani. The film is directed by Mussanje Mahesh and is produced by M.Chandrashekhar. A legal tangle has prevented the film to get released before the Gowri-Ganesha film festival.
Sources in Gandhinagar said that producer M.Chandrashekhar had obtained a loan of Rs. 40 lacs from another Kannada film producer R.S. Gowda which added to around Rs. 46 lacs with interest. He was also due to Mahesh Kothari to an extent of Rs. 35 lacs and another distributer M.C. to an extent of Rs. 30 lacs which was given on the distribution rights for Chitradurga-Davanagere-Bellary areas. R.S. Gowda had approached the court to take a stay on the film, since his money was not paid before the release of the film. Though the film's negative holder Niranjan had specifically called R.S. Gowda for negotiations which was favourable to him, R.S. Gowda chose to be silent and preferred to obtain a stay order, sources said.
Eno Onthara producer M.Chandrashekhar is addressing a press meet on Friday afternoon to explain the reasons behind the postponement. Ganesh is shooting for Madhuve Mane in Bangkok.
On Friday, only two Kannada films will be released for the pre festival period. Lovely Star Prem and Ramya starrer `Jothegara' directed by Sigaamani and produced by Ashwini Ram Prasad will be hitting the screens in more number of theatres now, as Eno Onthara is getting postponed. Another film which has already hit the screens on Thursday was Nanjanagud Nanjunda starring Ravishankar and Hamsini.
