Aditya who celebrated his birthday on Monday (04th May) is looking forward for the release of his latest film 'Rebel' which is all set to release on the 08th of May. 'Rebel' was launched a few years back at the Atria Hotel in Bangalore. Many stars including Ravichandran and Shivarajakumar were present at the launch and wished Aditya, director Rajendra Singh  Babu and the team of 'Rebel' a huge luck.

However, the film got delayed due to various reasons and is all set to release this week. This is Aditya's first release in the last two years and the actor-producer is very much excited about the film. Will the film brink Aditya the last glory is yet to be seen in the coming days.

Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy (KDA) chairperson Rajendra Singh Babu has put his foot firmly in the mouth. While addressing a programme organised by KDA and the Karnataka Film Journalists Association, Babu said that journalists were paid cash, vouchers and watches (for their wives) so that they give positive reviews to films. Unfortunately, either Babu did not pay or is lying. His last five films in 10 years; Love, Kanchana Gang, Mohini 9886788888, Thipparalliya Tarlegalu, Rebel have all been panned by reviewers. Not one of these films got a single positive review. So whom did Babu pay bribes to? 

On the second day of the programme, Babu got it back. Senior journalist Jogi said, "If Babu or anyone else has paid money for reviews, they should first reveal the names of the persons whom they paid it to. Release it in public. Making vague statements is wrong. I have heard about such things in Telugu. But there is no such thing happening in Kannada as far as I know."

One more panelist, Shyam Prasad said, "Someone who destroyed bank funding for the Kannada film industry after not paying back loans is making these allegations. If true, let him name those involved."

Another panelist Snehapriya Nagaraj said, "Rajendra Singh Babu last film Rebel could not be watched for more than 10 minutes at a stretch. Every critic who reviewed the film said about the same thing. He is throwing out his frustrations now. When Singh Babu could not control his own industry, now he is trying to control the film journalists.

The Hindi film Manjhi The Mountain Man is all in the news these days. The real story of a man in Bihar who carved a road out of a mountain is being hailed. The adaptation of a real life story is being praised. But not many people know that even before a film was made about Dashrath Kanji in Hindi, two Kannada films have already featured his story.

Three years ago, one of the episodes in the film Olave Mandara directed by Jayateertha was about Manjhi. Even the original location was shown in the film. That is not the only one.

15 years ago, Rajendra Singh Baby in his film Bhoomitayiya Chochala Maga had a character based on Manjhi. Played by Lokesh, the character, instead of building a road through a mountain, dismantles a mountain piece by piece to build a dam. Bollywood May be taking inspiration from real life now, but Sandalwood has beaten it twice over.

Responding to a major demand by film audience the Karnataka Government has capped the prices of tickets at multiplexes at Rs 200. Ticket prices in Karnataka multiplexes are among the highest in India.

Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have fixed maximum ticket prices earlier. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the price cap in his budget speech today in the Assembly. The official request to cap ticket prices was made by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Sa Ra Govindu and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy chairman Rajendra Singh Babu to the government during the pre budget meeting recently. The request was made earlier also but the government has conceded it now. 

Multiplexes will now have to compulsorily screen at least two shows of Kannada films during prime time. Kannada film makers have long complained how Kannada films were regulated to odd timings even when they had more audience than non Kannada films. Chitranagari at Mysore has also been announced.

The State Government has also announced other sops for the film industry. The amount for the film workers welfare fund has been raised to Rs 10 crore from Rs 1 crore. The tax on non Kannada films which was Rs 1 per ticket has been increased to Rs 5 per ticket. This amount will be used for the promotion of Kannada films.

Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy president Rajendra Singh Babu and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Sa Ra Govindu on Tuesday met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and submitted a memorandum to him and requested him to support the Kannada film industry.

The details of the memorandum are as follows:

* Swarna Kamal award films must be given 25 lakhs, Rajatha Kamal awards films must get 20 lakhs, State award films must get 20 lakhs, novel based films to get 20 lakhs and all other quality films must get 15 lakhs each.

* Building Janatha theaters in all district centres of Karnataka. These theaters must screen Kannada films only and no other language films. 50 Lakhs can be given to the new theaters while 25 lakhs to be given for renovation.

* Kannada films should be screened in all multiplexes in the prime time and the multiplex ticket rates should be reduced to 120 Rs.

* The artistes and technicians of Regional films like Kodava, Tulu, Bangara, Byaari, Konkani must also be recognised and suitable awards can be given to them.

* Two new awards to be constituted for achievers of Kannada film industry.

* Goonda act must be more effective to stop piracy of Kannada films.

* Online ticket system must be regularised in all theaters.

* To start a Film Archive in the coming days.

Senior director and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy chairman Rajendra Singh Babu has said that the Kannada makers are not neglected in the ongoing 08th Bangalore International Film Festival held in Bangalore.

Recently a director had claimed that Kannada film makers are being neglected in the 08th edition of the BIFFES. When asked about a question regarding this in the press meet, Babu denied news of neglecting Kannada makers.

'We have not neglected Kannada makers or Kannada cinema in this festival. We have made opportunities for lot film makers to premiere their film in this festival. Many of the Kannada makers have been selected for the jury and we have seen to it that many Kannada films get repeat shows amongst foreign films. We have not neglected anybody or hurt anybody. We are hosting this festival. Many guests have come here and the guests and invitees are also very important. If there are any problems, please let us know. Those who are complaning about neglecting have not contacted us' said Rajendra Singh Babu.

Noted Producer and Director Rajendra Singh Babu who is also Kannada Film Academy Chairman is in trouble. This time it is from the court order. Chandrashekar was supposed to pay Rs 7.5 lacs to Navashakthi Nagaraj which he failed to repay.

Nagaraj had moved to court and has got the order  (Case no. 2426/2012) for the attachment of his property. Execution petition (EP) was filed by advocate K Raghunath.

Senior director Rajendra Singh Babu is returning to directing a film. The president of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy has his hands full at running the academy. But he is not far removed from his first love of film making.

His new film is titled Kannada Abharana Kalinga Rao. It is a life story of the legendary Kannada Sugama Sangeetha and Bhavageethe singer and composer P Kalinga Rao. Kalinga Rao is one of the most famous sugama sangeetha exponents in Kannada and died in 1981 at the age of 66. The film is produced by Rockline Venkatesh.

Reputed Director Rajendra Singh Babu will continue as President for Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy for next one and half year.

Singh Babu was appointed to KCA till 24/08/2016 and today Information Department secretary SN Jayashree has signed for the letter stating Rajendra Singh Babu will continue till 23/11/2017 or till the next order issued.

First of all we should give credit to KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu, Chalanachitra Academy Chairman SV Rajendra Singh Babu, MLC Jayamala and the core committee members. They are the ones who put across the matter to the government on several occasion. They relentessly persued the issue and every time there was an opportunity to meet the government, CM or officials the issue was raised. 

Many persons from the Kannada film industry have given memorandum to the concerned authorities regarding curbing ticket prices in multiplexes for the last few years. For the movie Actor produced by KM Veeresh under the banner Chitraloka.

Multiplex Ticket Price Capped At Rs 200

Movies there was a huge problem from the multiplexes. Along with Actor, another Kannada movie Bhale Jodi was also being targeted by multiplexes. The booking website showed houseful marks and prevented audience from buying tickets. KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu immediately called all the multiplex persons and asked them to sort out the issue. Earlier Dinakar Toogudeepa's film Maduveya Mamateya Kareyole faced similar problem.

Keerthi Shankarghatta popularly known as Kirik Keerthi was writing on his Facebook page and campaigning about multiplex ticket rates from last 4-5 years.

During last year's Budget time Actor director Dayal Padmanabhan started an Online petition to cap the Multiplex ticket price at Rs 120. There was tremendous response from all over India and more than 50,000 people signed the petition including movie stars. Inspite of all the fight nothing much happened in the last year's budget.

This year there was a different movement. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who is very close to KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu heeded to the demand. Whatever Sa Ra Govindu has asked for the film industry, Chief Minister had responded positively. For example, nobody can forget the tragic incident during the shooting Mastigudi where actors Anil and Uday died. During the last State Award function Sa Ra Govindu and Rajendra Singh Babu gave a complete report to Chief Minister on the stage. In the same function Siddaramaiah announced Five lakh compensation each to the families of Anil and Uday. He also announced State Award function will be held every year on April 24th on Dr Rajkumar's birthday and increased the subsidy from 100 to 125 movies.

Recently when reputed director A T Raghu was suffering from Kidney failure Sa Ra Govindu approached Chief Minister for help and got Rs 5 lakhs sanctioned.

Before the budget KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu along with his office bearers, Rajendra Singh Babu and Jayamala had several discussions with Chief Minister and Government officials and explained the problems which Kannada film industry is facing. Finally in the budget whatever KFCC had asked the government has sanctioned. It just because of Sa Ra Govindu that all these things have been brought to fruit.

ಅನುಮಾನವೇನಿಲ್ಲ. ಸುಹಾಸಿನಿ ಜೈಜಗದೀಶ್ ದಂಪತಿಯ ಮಗನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋದು ಬಾಬು ಪುತ್ರ ಅದಿತ್ಯ. ಸುಹಾಸಿನಿ ಜೈಜಗದೀಶ್ ಅದೇ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಟಿನ್ಯೂ ಆಗ್ತಾರಂತೆ. ಉಳಿದ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಸದ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಕೊಡಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಬು.

ಅದೇ ಹೋಟೆಲ್.. 30 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಉಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಹೋಟೆಲ್. ಆ ಹೋಟೆಲ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸ್ತವ್ಯ ಹೂಡಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಿದ್ದವರು ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಹಾಸಿನಿ. ಅದು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕ್ಲಾಸಿಕ್ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲೊಂದಾದ ಮುತ್ತಿನ ಹಾರ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್‍ಗಾಗಿ. ಅದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಬು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬರೋಬ್ಬರಿ 30 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ರಾಜವೀರ ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕ.

ರಾಜವೀರ ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಶುರುವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೇರಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ದಿನ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಬ್ರೇಕ್ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಅರಮನೆ, ಕೋಟೆ ಕೊತ್ತಲಗಳ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಲೊಕೇಷನ್ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಬು.

ದರ್ಶನ್ ಮದಕರಿಯಾಯಗಿ, ಸುಮಲತಾ ರಾಜಮಾತೆಯಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ದುರ್ಗದ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಕಥೆ ರಾಜವೀರ ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕನದ್ದು. ಬಿ.ಎಲ್.ವೇಣು ಕಥೆ, ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಂಸಲೇಖ ಸಂಗೀತವಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿರುವುದು ರಾಕ್‍ಲೈನ್ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್.

ಸ್ವಾತಿ ಮುತ್ತಿನ ಮಳೆ ಹನಿಯೇ.. ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‍ನಿಂದ ಸ್ಟೇ ತಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಬು. ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಬಹುತೇಕ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಪ್ರೊಡಕ್ಷನ್ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ರಿಲೀಸ್ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ರೆಡಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಇದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಾಕ್. ಇದು ರಮ್ಯಾ ಅವರು ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಪಲ್ ಪ್ರೊಡಕ್ಷನ್ಸ್ ಮೂಲಕ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ನಾಯಕಿಯಾಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಕೊನೆ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿರಿ ರವಿಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಃ ರಮ್ಯ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು.

ಸ್ವಾತಿ ಮುತ್ತಿನ ಮಳೆ ಹನಿಯೇ.. ಚಿತ್ರ ನಮ್ಮದು. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಈ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಶೇ.80ರಷ್ಟು ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮುಗಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ಆರ್. ವಾದ. ಅಂಬರೀಷ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಹಾಸಿನಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರ ಸೆಟ್ಟೇರಿದ್ದದ್ದು ನಿಜ. ಆದರೆ ಚಿತ್ರ ಏನಾಯ್ತು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂಬಿ ನಿಧನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರ ನೆನೆಗುದಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ಆರ್. ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಶೇ.80ರಷ್ಟು ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಆಗಿದೆ.

ಮುಂದೇನು..? ರಮ್ಯ ಈ ಟೈಟಲ್ಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾನೂನು ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಹೊಸ ಟೈಟಲ್ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಕೋರ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾದ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಂತರೆ ಯಾವಾಗ ಮುಗಿಯುವುದೋ ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲ್ಲ. ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ರಾಜಿ ಸಂಧಾನ ಸೂತ್ರದ ಮಾರ್ಗವೂ ಇದೆ.

ಚಾಲೆಂಜಿAಗ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ದರ್ಶನ್, ರಾಕ್‌ಲೈನ್ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ ಮತ್ತು ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಬು ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಡುಗಲಿ ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಸೆಟ್ಟೇರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಾಳೆಯೇ ಮುಹೂರ್ತ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಭಾರಿ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಬು. ಅದರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನ್ ಕಥೆ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಬು.

ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಪಾತ್ರ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ದುರ್ಗಾಸ್ತಮಾನ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಓದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಭಾರಿ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದ್ದ. ಅದನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತ.ರಾ.ಸು. ಅವರಿಂದ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಕ್ಕು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಸಿವಿಎಲ್ ಶಾಸ್ತಿç ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರಾಗಲು ಒಪ್ಪಿದ್ದರು. ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನ್ ಅವರು ತಯಾರಿಯನ್ನೂ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆಗ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ಪುಟಗಳ ಜಾಹೀರಾತನ್ನೂ ನೀಡಿದ್ದೆವು. ಆದರೆ, ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ತಯಾರಿ ಶುರುವಾದಾಗ ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕನಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿಸಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಆನೆ, ಕುದುರೆ, ಜನಸಮೂಹದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆತಂಕ ಶುರುವಾಯ್ತು. ಈಗ ಇರುವಂತೆ ಆಗ ಗ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ಸ್ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆ ಬಜೆಟ್ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡದಿತ್ತು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಕೈಬಿಟ್ಟೆವು' ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಸ್.ವಿ.ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಬಾಬು.
