Well known still photographer Badri's first directorial venture which has Naveen Krishna in lead role '1944' is all set to release on the 05th of August. Meanwhile, the songs of the film was released on Monday morning.

'1944' is based on a drama called 'Rotti Runa' by actor-writer N S Rao. The film has a pre-independence subject and Badri himself has written the screenplay of the film. P S Murthy is the producer.

Naveen Krishna has played a real role in the film along with Shruthi, Bhavya, Suchindra Prasad, Shivani, Ramesh Bhatt and others.

Still Badri's Film Titled 1944

Veteran director Bhagavan of Dorai-Bhagavan fame released the songs of 'Coma' amidst much fan fare at the Cinepolis Multiplex in Bangalore. Ashic Arun has composed the songs for the film and veteran director Bhagavan expressed his happiness to release the songs. Priyanka Upendra had also come as a guest, but she left early because of prior commitments. Director Suni, actor Praveen and others were witnesses to the release of the songs of the film.

The film stars Karthik, Shruthi, Guruprasad, Bhagavan and others and is written and directed by Ravi-Chethan duo. Raja Selvam has produced the film along with Ravi-Chethan.

III, part three of the film on the Dandupalya gang's crime is a terrifying account of the  ways and means they adopted to kill 80 people in five years. Director Srinivas Raju has made a film that will shock and scare people about how this gang was captured and brought to book. In the first film some of the incidents about the gang was shown. In the second part the story was about the gang's version that they were wrongly framed in the cases. In the third film the police version of the crimes and how the gang was put up before the court is shown. Even then it is a terrifying  account and is not for the weak-hearted. 

The film starts with the journalist Shruti exposing the police cooking up proof to frame the Dandupalya gang members (referred to as D gang in the film). The police officer played by Ravishankar then reveals the police side of the story to the journalist. He says that she has only written about two pages out of the 5,000 pages of investigation and that people know even little. So what is the reality. Is it what was  seen in the first film or what was revealed in the second film?

There is surprise in this script. The story takes a completely new turn. There is twists in every scene. If you have watched the first two parts you will be surprised at how reality can have many versions. In the end the director leves it to the audience to decide what is true and what may be false. He does not force anyone to his viewpoint. Truth has many layers and he explores them. That is why the film is a success. 

However there is much blood and crime in the film that may put off some audience. It is given an A certificate and therefore is not advisible for young audience. It will be too much for children to watch. Rightly the film is only for adults.

On Sunday, many of the artistes and technicians assembled near the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and went to Kolar and held a rally to support the permanent water supply to Kolar district.

If sources are to be believed then actress Shruthi is likely to win the third season of 'Big Boss' being aired in Colors Kannada. The show was launched two week and the contestants have settled in the house in the last two week. Shruthi has been accepted as the captain on the first week by the inmates of the house as she is elder than everybody in the house. In last two weeks Shruthi is looking like she is adjusted to the house and will emerge as the winner.

Actress Shruthi who won the third season of Big Boss is all set to play an anchor or ambassador in a new serial called Mahasathi which is being directed by actor-director Sunil Puranik. Mahasathi is a new serial being launched in the Udaya TV from today evening and Shruthi will be introducing the main characters of the serial for the next one week. The serial will be shot in Uttara Karnataka completely.

Actress turned politician Shruthi on Tuesday took in-charge as as the chairperson of Karnataka State Tourism Department Corporation. Tourism Minister C T Ravi had cleared her name before heading to London.

The State BJP Spokesperson who took charge of the Corporation, expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, Minister C T Ravi, and to the state BJP leaders. Before heading to the Corporation, Shruthi took the blessings of her parents and wishes from her family members.

Tonight the winner of Kannada Bigg Boss 3 will be revealed in the show's episode. There is a lot of curiosity about it already as all the five remaining contestants are strong contenders. Not surprisingly four of the five remaining contestants are actors (except for Rehman who is popular because he is a news reader). What are the chances of any of them winning this season? Is it a close fight or is the winner already concluded?

Shruti: The senior-most among the remaining contestants was also given big respect by the others because of this. For many of the contestants she was 'Shruti Amma' in the Bigg Boss show. She got respect by default without even trying for it. Other contestants accepted her as a senior. This made Shruti's job easier in the Bigg Boss house. Though there were some discontent among some contestants about it, Shruti also managed to hold her own. She is a top contender.

Anand: Anand, like Arun Sagar in the earlier edition, was the biggest entertainer and task master. His lively presence and ability to have the spotlight on himself due to his hardwork did not go unnoticed. But we have seen that even in the two previous editions, the popular contestant ended up as runner up. First it was Arun Sagar and second time it was Srujan Lokesh. If the Bigg Boss winning is jinxed, Anand would be at the receiving end.

Pooja Gandhi: She must be the luckiest contestant. She had been eliminated but managed to get back into the house. This made her only stronger. Her being a popular actress helped her avoid elimination most of the times. But will she really reach the top will have to be awaited as she faces really tough challenge from Shruti and Anand. But coming so far in the contest and remaining all 100 days is a big achievement in itself.

Chandan: The handsome star kept a low profile since the beginning of the show in October. But as he gained confidence over the weeks he came into his own. He managed to survive every week due to his adaptabiliy. Now comes the biggest challenge in his career. Though he has not made a big mark in films, the TV star has a big following on television. Can he pull off a surprise in the end is what his fans are expecting.

Rehman: The news-reader turned Bigg Boss contestant is the odd man in the group filled with film celebrities. Rehman has maintained a strong presence throughout the 100 days and it will not be a surprise to anyone if he wins the Bigg Boss 3 event. That has been the kind of involvement he has shown. Even the others contesting against him will acknowledge that he will be a worthy winner.

Chitraloka's take: The first two seasons of Bigg Boss Kannada have seen a predictable path in the end. In the first season, Vijay Raghavendra won it though Arun Sagar was seen as the more interesting option. In the second season it was similar with Akul Balajai winning over Srujan Lokesh. In this season, it will look like a contest between Anand and Shruti. One of the two may win. But you never know. There may be a twist in the end! Let's wait.

ಮನೋಜ್ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ʻಧರಣಿʼ ಫಸ್ಟ್ ಲುಕ್  ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್  ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದಿತ್ತು. ಕೋಳಿ ಪಂದ್ಯದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕಾಡುವ ಕಥೆಯೊಂದು ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಅಂತಾ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಮೂಲಕ ʻಧರಣಿʼಯ ಕುರಿತು ಕ್ಯೂರಿಯಾಸಿಟಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದೆ. ಸರಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ತೆರೆ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದ ರಾಮ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರುತಿ  ಅಭಿನಯದ ʻಶ್ರೀ ನಾಗ ಶಕ್ತಿʼ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಲ ಕಲಾವಿದೆಯಾಗಿ ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಬಣ್ಣ ಹಚ್ಚಿದ್ದವರು ಕೀರ್ತಿ. ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸದ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಿಂದ ದೂರವೇ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದರು. ಗ್ಲೋಬಲ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜ್ ಮೆಂಟ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಬಿಎ ಮುಗಿಸಿರುವ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಈಗ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕಥೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಒಪ್ಪಬೇಕು ಅಂತಾ ಕಾದಿದ್ದ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ʻಧರಣಿʼಯ ಕತೆ ಅಪಾರವಾಗಿ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ನಾಯಕಿಯಾಗಲು ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶರಣ್-ಶೃತಿ ಅವರ ಇಬ್ಬರು ತಾಯಂದಿರೂ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಾವಿದೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದವರು. ತಂದೆ ಕೃಷ್ಣ, ತಾಯಂದಿರಾದ ರಾಧಾ-ರುಕ್ಮಿಣಿ ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಣ್ಣ ಹಚ್ಚಿದ್ದವರು. ಕಲೆಗೂ ಅವರಿಗೂ ಬಿಡಿಸಲಾಗದ ನಂಟು. ಧರಣಿ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅನಂತು ವರ್ಸಸ್ ನುಸ್ರತ್ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಯ ಸುಧೀರ್ ಶಾನುಭೋಗ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ, ಯಂಗ್ ಥಿಂಕರ್ಸ್ ಫಿಲಂಸ್ ಲಾಂಛನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿ.ಕೆ.ಉಮೇಶ್ ಕೆ. ಗಣೇಶ್ ಐತಾಳ್ ಅವರು  ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಭಜರಂಗಿ 2 ರಿಲೀಸ್ ಡೇಟ್ ಅನೌನ್ಸ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಸಂಚಲನ ಶುರುವಾಗಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದ ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್, ಟೀಸರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದವರು ನಟಿ ಶೃತಿ. ಶೃತಿ ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ನಟಿಸಿರುವುದು ಸಾಂಸಾರಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಮಿಡಿ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ. ಆದರೆ.. ಕೈಲಿ ಚುಟ್ಟಾ ಹಿಡಿದು, ಮಂತ್ರವಾದಿಯಂತೆ ಭಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದ ಶೃತಿಯ ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್ ಬೆರಗು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದಂತೂ ನಿಜ.

ನನಗೆ ಹರ್ಷ ಮೊದಲು ನನ್ನ ಪಾತ್ರ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಿಜ. ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋದೋ ಬೇಡವೋ ಎಂಬ ಗೊಂದಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡೇ ಪಾತ್ರದ ವಿಷ್ಯುಯಲೈಸ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದಾಗ ಓಕೆ ಎಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟೆ. ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಓಕೆ ಎಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಡ್ವಾನ್ಸ್ ಕಳಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಗಾರ್ ಕೂಡಾ ಇತ್ತು. ಏನ್ ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟ್ರೇ.. ಅಡ್ವಾನ್ಸ್ ಕಳಿಸೋದು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಸಿಗಾರ್ ಕಳಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ರೇಗಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರುತ್ತೇನೆ' ಎಂದು ಅನುಭವ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿರೋ ಶೃತಿ, ಆ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಕನ್ನಡಿ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಸಿಗಾರ್ ಹಿಡಿಯೋದು ಹೇಗೆ ಅನ್ನೋದನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಕ್ಟೀಸ್ ಮಾಡಿದರಂತೆ.

ನೀವು ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿರುವ ಶೃತಿಯೇ ಬೇರೆ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಾಣಸಿಗುವ ಶೃತಿಯೇ ಬೇರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಶೃತಿ.

ಪಾತ್ರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ನನಗೆ ಕಾನ್ಫಿಡೆನ್ಸ್ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಹರ್ಷ ಸರ್‍ಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವಿತ್ತು. ನನಗೇ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನಂತೂ ಮೊದಲೇ ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದೆ. ಮೇಕಪ್ ನಂತರ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೆದರುವಂತಿರಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ರೆ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಇರಲ್ಲ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಅಡ್ವಾನ್ಸ್ ಬದಲು ಚುಟ್ಟಾ ಕಳಿಸಿ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಹರ್ಷ. ಕ್ಯಾರವಾನ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಟೆಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಮೇಕಪ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಬಂದಾಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕಲಾವಿದರೊಬ್ಬರು ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಫಿಟ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಎಂದರು. ಆ ಕಲಾವಿದರೇ ಶಿವಣ್ಣ..

ಶೃತಿ ಹೀಗೆಲ್ಲ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಭಜರಂಗಿ 2 ರಿಲೀಸ್ ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ನಡೆದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ.

ಭಜರಂಗಿ 2ನಲ್ಲಿ ಶೃತಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೆರಿಯರ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೂವರೆಗೆ ಮಾಡದೇ ಇರದಂತಾ ರೋಲ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ.. ಗೆಟಪ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ.. ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದು ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳು, ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೂ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗಿರೋದು ಖುಷಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರೋದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಜಯಣ್ಣ-ಭೋಗೇಂದ್ರ ಜೋಡಿಗೆ.. ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಇಷ್ಟವಾದಷ್ಟೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಖುಷಿ ಪಡೋದು ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರೇ ಅಲ್ವಾ..

ಇದು ಲವ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿ ಕಥೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಸೆಯುವ ಕಥೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಶೃತಿ. 13 ಅನ್ನೋದು ಕೆಡುಕಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಭಾವನೆ ಇದೆ. ಅದು ಯಾಕೆ ಅನ್ನೋದನ್ನ ಸಸ್ಪೆನ್ಸ್ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್ ಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ್.
