Director-producer R Chandru has confirmed that the muhurath of his next film 'Badshah' starring Shivarajkumar will not be held on the 24th of this month and the film has been postponed due to various reasons.

Recently, Shivarajakumar has said that his next film will not be 'Badshah' and instead will be taking up 'Srikanta' being produced by 'Chingari' Mahadev.

Reactng to this, 'we were supposed to launch the film on the 24th of April. Due to various reasons, we have postponed the film. Particularly my second film as a producer, 'Male' is yet to be released. Moreover, 'Badshah' is a big budget and a different film and it takes a lot of time for preparations. I wanted to start 'Badshah' after all this and in view of all this, I had postponed the film. Before taking the decision, I brought to the notice of Shivarajakumar and only after his consent I have postponed the film. Now another film is likely to start during that time and 'Badshah' will be starting a little late than expected' said R Chandru to Chitraloka.com.

Geetha Shivarajakumar wife of actor Shivarajakumar on Saturday night released the songs of 'Srikanta' in Bangalore. Shivarajakumar, Puneeth Rajakumar, Vinay Rajakumar and others were present at the occasion.

'Srikanta' is scheduled to release on the 06th of January, meanwhile the songs composed by Ajaneesh Lokanath was released. It was huge gathering and many well known personalities of the Kannada film industry including Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce ex-president K V Chandrashekhar, S V Babu, A Ganesh, Soundarya Jagadish, Chi Gurudutt, R S Gowda and others were present at the occasion.

'Srkanta' is being written and directed by Manju Swaraj, while 'Chingari' Mahadev is the producer of the film.

Well known distributor Sridhar is all set to release Shivarajakumar starrer 'Srikanta' across Karnataka. Sridhar will be releasing the film through his N M Entertainment banner. NM Entertainment had earlier released Darshan starrer Jaggudada and Rama Rama Rey movies. The film will be released in association with Mangalmurthi Films.

'Srikanta' is being written and directed by Manju Swaraj who had earlier directed 'Shravani Subramanya' and other films. 'Chingari' Mahadev is the producer of the film. Chandini Sridharan who has acted in a few Malayalam films is the heroine of the film and apart from Shivarajakumar and Chandini, Vijay Raghavendra plays a prominent role in the film. Suresh Babu is the cameraman, while Ajaneesh Lokanath is the music director.

Meanwhile, the songs of the film is all set to be released on the 17th of December in Bangalore.

The new film of Shivanna, Bangara, S/o Bangarada Manushya starts next week. The muharat of the film will be held on next Friday 15th January 2016. The date was finalised on Saturday after Shivanna had a meeting with producers Jayanna and Bhogendra.

The film is directed by Yogi G Raj under Jayanna Combines banner. Since it is auspicious Sankranti, the muharata will be held that day. However shooting will commence once Shivanna completes shooting for Srikanta which is expected in 3-4 weeks.

Meanwhile Shivanna's Killing Veerappan is doing great business at box office. Shivalinga and Santa Kabir will release in the next couple of months.

This Friday will witness two prominent and expected films of the season and Shivarajakumar's 'Srikanta' will be competing with Ramesh Aravind's 100th film 'Pushpaka Vimana' on this Friday.

Both Shivarajakumar and Ramesh Aravind have acted together in more than five films.Despite acting in many, none of their films have clashed at box-office so far. This is the first time in both the actors career that their films are competing against each other.

While, 'Srikanta' is a straight subject, 'Pushpaka Vimana' is inspired from 'Miracle in Cell No 7'. Both the actors have pinned their hopes on their respective films and there is much hype surrounded around both the films. Which among the two films will be successful to woo the audience is yet to be seen.

The first Kannada film that released in 2016 was Shivarajkumar's Killing Veerappan directed by Ram Gopal Verma. In 2017 it will become a trend with another Shivarajkumar film becoming the first Kannada film to release. Srikanta is releasing in the first week of January.

2016 saw the release of the highest number of Kannada films ever. What will 2017 bring with Shivanna leading the way. Only time will tell. Srikanta is directed by Manju Swaraj.

The first schedule of Shivarajakumar starrer 'Srikanta' being produced by Mahadev and directed by Manju Swaraj has silently been completed and the second schedule of the film will start from 18th of January.

Meanwhile, the heroine for the film has been selected and Malayalam based actress Chandini Sreedharan has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Shivarajakumar. Chandini who has acted in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam will be joining the second schedule of the film.

Apart from Shivarajakumar and Chandini, Vijay Raghavendra plays a prominent role in the film. Suresh Babu is the cameraman, while Ajaneesh Lokanath is the music director.

Last week director R Chandru has said that he will soon be starting 'Badshah' with Shivarajakumar and the preparations for the film is in full progress. But Shivarajakumar has given a hint that his next film is 'Srikanta' being directed by Manju Swaraj and 'Badshah' is not in the cards right now.

Recently while speaking to few media persons, Shivarajakumar confirmed that after 'Shivalingu' and 'Santheyalli Nintha Kabira', he will be taking up 'Srikanta'.

'I have finished 'Vajrakaya' and the shooting for 'Shivalinga' and 'Santheyalli Ninta Kabira' is in progress. After shooting for both the films I will be taking up 'Srikanta'. It will be August when I complete all these films. After that I want to give sometime for my daughter's marriage. I will be planning future films only after my daughter's wedding' says Shivarajakumar.

Srikanta is a very good movie experience. Though it is a regular commercial film Director Manju Swaraj has given it a deeper meaning and chronicles it like a biography of a common man. The common man is played by Shivanna in a graceful performance. 

The film is about a common man from the slums whose job is to do the bidding of local politicians. He does everything for a price as it is his livelihood. His personal life goes a dramatic turn with a girl falling in love with him. But he is such a hot headed person that family life does not suit him. Meanwhile rivalry is building up in local politics and the common man is used as a pawn. Does he manage to set his personal life and the challenges posed by bigger elements is the rest of the story. 

Shivanna's performance is brilliant. The no-nonsense character he portrays is done perfectly. Vijaya Raghavendra's character is the complete opposite and the interaction between the two is impressive. Chandani made a good impact and this is her first Kannada film. We may see more of her in Kannada films after this performance. 

The film is aided by wonderful performances and good team effort. The photography is done in an interesting manner which gives meaning to what is on the screen. The music is apt and complements the story. This is a film that fans of Shivanna will lap up. It is an unusual film that opens up a new way of narrating a commercial film.

The trailer of Shivarajakumar starrer 'Srikanta' being produced by Mahadev and directed by Manju Swaraj was released on Friday along with Nikhil Kumar starrer 'Jaguar'.

One of the highlights of the trailer is however, the tune of 'Haavina Dwesha Hanneradu Varusha' from Vishnuvardhan starrer 'Nagarahavu' being used in the film.

Chandini Sridharan who has acted in a few Malayalam films is the heroine of the film and apart from Shivarajakumar and Chandini, Vijay Raghavendra plays a prominent role in the film.

The songs of the film is all set to be released soon.

Shvarajakumar's new film 'Srikanta' is all set to be launched on the 16th of October. Though the star cast of the film apart from Shivarajakumar has not been finalised, director Manju Swaraj is planning to rope in Ananth Nag and Arundati Nag for the film.

Manju says he is yet  to approach Ananth and Arundhati Nag for the role and has not finalised anything. It would be real delight for their fans to see both of them together because it has been nearly 30 years since the two acted together. Last time, they were seen in Shankar Nag's 'Accident' and after that Ananth Nag and Arundhati Nag did not act together in any of the films due to various reasons.

So, it has to be seen whether Manju will be able to rope in the two talented artistes for his film or not?

ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರನ್ನು ಅರೆಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ 50 ಸಾವಿರ ರೂ. ಶ್ಯೂರಿಟಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಜಾಮೀನು ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿತ್ತು. ಇದು ರಿಷಬ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ವಿಜಯ್ ಕಿರಗಂದೂರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರೆಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಅವಕಾಶವಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಸೂಚನೆ ಎಂಬಂತಿತ್ತು.  ಇದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್ ರಿಲೀಫ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
