Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar's latest film 'Ishtakamya' is in the post-production stage and meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be releasing the songs of the film on the 19th of April.

Director Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar and producer Shankaregowda has organised a grand audio release at the Jnanajyothi Auditorium in Bangalore on Tuesday and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be arriving to release the audio.

Jnanapeeth Award winner Chandrashekhara Kambara, ministers H C Mahadevappa, Mahadeva Prasad, Umasri, actors Ravichandran, Shivarajakumar, KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu, KCA president S V Rajendra Singh Babu, Information Director Vishukumar and others will be present at the occasion.

Veteran actress Harini, director Nagarihall Chandrashekhar and well known music composer Rajan has bagged the top state awards for the year 2015.

Actress Harini who has acted with Dr Rajakumar has been adjudged for the Dr Rajkumar Award, while Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar has been given the Puttanna Kanagal award and music composer Rajan has been selected for the Dr Vishnuvardhan award respectively.

The awards for the year 2015 was announced a couple of months back. However, the top three awards including Dr Rajakumar, Dr Vishnuvardhan and Puttanna Kanagal were not announced as a separate committee was set up to chose the right people for the awards. The committee comprising Veteran director Bhagavan, Hamsalekha and Gangadhar Modaliar has picked the suitable people for these three top awards

The 13th of May is going to witness two big films release on the same day. While, Ganesh starrer 'Style King' is scheduled to release on that day, Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar's 'Ishtakamya' is all so set to release on the same day.

On this day, 33 years ago, noted Indian filmmaker and writer Nagathihalli Chandrashekar happily lost his 'independence' by entering into wedlock with his better half Shobha.

The national award winning filmmaker's unique invitation was much talked-about back then. It reads: We are happily losing our 'Independence' on the Independence Day, the 15 August 1986 by wedlock at conference Hall, State Youth Centre, Nrupathunga Road.

Nagathihalli and Sudeep have worked together once before. Sudeep played a Naxalite in the film Matad Matad Mallige. The director is currently working on his new film, Ishtakamya while Sudeep is busy with multiple films and small screen also. The two have not worked together again after MMM.

Director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar who has stayed away from films for the past three years since the release of Breaking News starring Ajai Rao and Radhika Pandit is all set for a comeback. His new film which he will be producing as well will be announced in May.

Nagathihalli had stayed away from films to concentrate on his daughter's wedding. He had written two scripts and has selected the less costly one to produce and direct now. It is based on a novel and he has written the script after seeking permission from the author. The cast, crew and other details of the film will be announced at the launch in May first week.

Did the appointment of Nagathihalli Chandrashekar as the president of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy got anything to do with his closeness with HD Deve Gowda? Soon after the government's announcement of appointing Chandrashekar as the president of KCA messages and talk in Sandalwood is about how the director is close to the Deve Gowda family.

There is no doubt that Nagathihalli is one of the most capable persons to run KCA. He has the ability and is widely accepted and respected in the film industry. But it is also true that he is very close to Deve Gowda. He was instrumental in giving suggestions when the former prime minister was writing a book. His appointment now is being seen as a payback by the Deve Gowda family for helping Deve Gowda earlier.

The Karnataka High Court has stayed the trial in a nearly nine year old case between film directors Nagatihalli Chandrashekar and Indrajit Lankesh. The case relates to a report about the film Maatad Maatadu Mallige.

Nagatihalli had filed a defamation case against Indrajit who allegedly reported that during the shooting of the film crops of farmers were destroyed but they were not compensated. The case was going on in a Magistrate court in Bengaluru for the last nine years.

Indrajit then approached the High Court which has now given a stay on the case in the Magistrate court. Whether Nagatihalli and Indrajit will arrive at a compromise is to be seen. 

Well known director Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar who was the president of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy has lost his post with immediate effect. 

The Government on Friday has issued an order regarding the cancellation of President and members of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, Karnataka Madhyama Academy, Kanteerava Studio Limited and various organisations which come under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar became the president of the KCA last year, when H D Kumaraswamy took over as the Chief Minister. Now as the Government has changed, there were suspicions whether Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar will also lose his post as the president of KCA. Now the Government has issued an order and a new chairman will be appointed soon.

Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar won't be participating as the chairman in the 'Belli Hejje' of director Richard Castellino today in Mangalore.

Well known director Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar has taken over the new president of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy on Thursday evening in Bangalore.

Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar took over the charge from ex-president S V Rajendra Singh Babu at the Academy office in Nandini Layout in Bangalore.

Directors T S Nagabharana, N R Nanjundegowda, actor Dattana and others were present at the occasion.

Senior director Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar has organised a six day work shop on the entire process of film making from his Tent Cinema  Film School. The workshop will focus on the entire process of film making and many well known personalities from different fields of cinema will be taking classes.

Apart from Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar, 'Lucia' Pavan Kumar, 'Aa Dinagalu' Chaitanya, music director Poornachandra Tejaswi, Jayatheertha, cinematographer Manohar Joshi and others will be taking classes.

The workshop will be conducted from January 21st to 26th from 9 AM to 6 PM.

Senior director Nagatihalli Chandrashekar has taken a dig at Bigg Boss Kannada Season 4 saying it is boring. He has said that the contestants look tired.

He has suggested host Sudeep to tell the contestants to smile more and it is not nice to look at their sad faces. This is the first time that a Sandalwood senior has openly commented on the Bigg Boss show. The contestants have completed 75 days in the house and it is nearing a climax.

Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar is all set to introduce Vasishta Simha, the hero of his new film 'India Vs England' through a specially made teaser today at 4 PM.

Vasishta Simha plays the role of Kanishka in the film and Nagatihallli plans to introduce him in a unique way. He has made a character introduction teaser of Vasishta and the teaser will be released officially at 4 PM on the You Tube channel of Anand Audio.

'India VS England' stars Vasishta Simha, Manvitha Kamath, Ananth Nag, Sadhu Kokila and others in prominent roles. Nagatihalli's daughter Kanasau has written the story of the film. Arjun Janya is the music composer.The film is being produced by Y N Shankare Gowda and friends.

The title of Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar's new film has been unveiled in London on Saturday. The film has been titled as 'India VS England' with a tagline 'Aadre Cricket Alla'.

Earlier, the film was tentatively titled as 'Love in London'. However, Nagatihalli had announced to reveal the title during the Karnataka Samskrithi Siri programme which was scheduled in London on Saturday. Finally, the film's title has been unveiled and the title is 'India VS England'.

Meanwhile, the first song called 'Kannada Kali' composed by Arjun Janya was released during the occasion. The song is written by Mattur Nandakumar and Supriya Lohith has sung the song. Arjun Janya is the music composer of the film.

The state government has created an embarrassing situation for five film personalities by taking back the awards it had given them years ago. Director-writer Nagatihalli Chandrashekar, music composer V Harikrishna, singers Tippu, Lakshmi Nataraj and editor Srinivas Babu have to give back their awards for the year 2009-10 given in the year 2012.

A case was filed in the high court that some films were added to the selection after the due date. Among these films two of them; Raj The Showman and Olave Jeevana Lekkachara won five awards. Nagtihalli won the best story writer award for Olave Jeevana Lekkachara based on his book Bhoomi Dundagide. The others won the awards for Raj The Showman.

After the case these five awards have been taken back. Information Department is not going to select new people for these awards and it will remain blank for 2009-10.

Kannada film personalities have responded to the historic judgement of the Supreme Court of India decriminalizing Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. Senior director and writer Nagatihalli Chandrashekar said, "There is no freedom to select gender,caste,religion, country,or language to anyone before their birth. I’m so happy, that our #Supreme Court realised this hard reality at least now! I have strong faith in our judicial system. It’s the only #HOPE! Let’s treat everyone equally." 

Nagatihalli also had a message in Kannada. He said, "ಯಾವ ಜೀವಿಗೂ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ತನ್ನ ಲಿಂಗ, ಜಾತಿ,ಧರ್ಮ, ದೇಶ,ಭಾಪೆಗಳ ಆಯ್ಕೆಗೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ಯ್ರವಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಸತ್ಯ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಗೆ ತಡವಾಗಿಯಾದರೂ ತಿಳಿಯಿತಲ್ಲ.. ನಮ್ಮ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ವ್ವವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಬಂತು. ಎಲ್ಲ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಕೇವಲ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಂತೆ ಕಾಣೋಣ." 

Actor Aa Dinagalu Chetan (Chetan Kumar) on his online message said, "Not just verdict but wording evokes tears of joy. 'Majoritarian views & popular morality cannot dictate Constitutional rights'. Thoughtful, conscientious, a much-needed jolt to the system #Judiciary that makes us proud to be LGBTQIA+/straight & Indian!" 

Director KM Chaitanya retweeted a newspaper report about the Supreme Court judgement and quoted, "Homosexuality is not an offence in India, five Supreme Court judges declared today in a spectacular verdict for the gay rights movement in the country." Actress Vishaka Singh, who has acted in films like Housefull and Antaraatma tweeted, "Thank you #SupremeCourtIndia ! My friends can be slightly less fearful now. #LiveAndLetLive."

Sudeep who is anchoring the fourth edition of the 'Big Boss' show in Colors Kannada has given a befitting reply to director Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar. Recently, Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar had commented that there is no life in the show and all the contestants looks pale on screen.

Commenting to that on the 'Saturday Night with Sudeep' programme,'If he had sent me a personal message, then I would have reacted personally. But Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar chose to discuss in the social media forum and I am also answering the question publicly. If the contestants look pale, because they have travelled for 80 days. They don't have their near and dear ones here.It's quite natural that they get tired after few days. We can't expect nor tell them to be cheerful always. Then it would definitely look fake' said Sudeep.

Sudeep has said physically abusing people is not the only way to answer when someone provokes in some manner.

Sudeep who was upset about Venkat assaulting Pratham in 'Big Boss' house had said that it was wrong on the part of Venkat and had opined this in a series of tweets. Answering to this, director Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar had said that, it was not Venkat's fault completely and some people are provoking him for cheap publicity. Nagatihalli had suggested that Venkat deserves parenting, pity and treatment.

For this, Sudeep tweeted an answer saying that, Shoudln't be coming from you sir. World provokes everyone in some manner sir, dsnt mean all r goin around physically abusing people.
