Engineer turned actress Priya Hegde makes her debut in Kannada with Jilka, which is scheduled for release on February 7. Priya stars in the film directed by Kaveesh Shetty produced under the banner KSP Productions.
"Ever since my childhood, I always aspired to become an actress, to portray a lead role in a feature film. However, studies were of utmost importance and once I finished my engineering, I worked for a software firm for about two years," she says.
In between, I kept modelling which is when Kaveesh Shetty offered me the role for which I had to train for a minimum of two months for the role of an educated and a traditional girl. Priya had previously acted in a Tulu film titled Dagalbajilu.
"Jilka is a special project in my life, which is simultaneously made in Kannada, Hindi and Marathi. I was initially skeptical of it because I had no clue of Marathi language. I even shed tears and had almost quit but Kaveen Shetty expressed faith and I was able pull it off," Priya adds.
She goes on to add that Jilka talks about two different generations and their differences. It also depicts the life of the protagonist in three different shades which makes it even more interesting, she says.
Before she wraps it up, Priya feels that Jilka will boost her career for its content and the overall quality of the film. She also has two Telugu projects in her kitty.
