Mandyada Gandu, Karna, Jaleela, Kanwarlaala, or simply call him rebel star M H Ambareesh and a friend of numerous personalities from various fields, is no more.
The star actor turned politician was suffering from breathing problem since four years and had later developed kidney related ailments. He was 66 years old and survived by his wife Sumalatha Ambareesh and his son Abhishek Ambareesh.
He suffered a cardiac arrest and was soon shifted to Vikram Hospital where he breathed his last. A flamboyant personality was elected to Lok Sabha on three occasion, and once served as the union minister as state minister for information technology and later resigned the post due to Cauvery river water agitation.
A close friend of Super Star Rajinikanth has expressed saying that he was wonderful human being who was his best friend. “I have lost you today and will miss you. Rest in peace.," Rajinikanth has said. Malavalli Huchegowda Ambareesh, who made his acting debut in Nagarahaavu has immortalised the character of 'jaleela’.
The star actor turned politician was suffering from lung infection and was also diagnosed with kidney related ailments. The actor who is the grandson of acclaimed musician Peteel Chowdaiah was about to get his kidney transplantation done but had been delaying it for a while and was to get it done post his son's birthday.
There was even talks to get him admittedly to Singapore hospital for further medication and kidney transplanted after finding the right donor. However, it is said that the ‘karna’ as he is also referred to as by his followers kept delaying it.
Several hits films to his credit, Ambareesh has acted in popular films such as Nagarahavu, Paduvarahalli Pandavaru, Anta, Tony, Hrudaya Hadithu, Odahuttidavaru, Masanada Hoovu, Yelu Suttina Kote, Olavina Vudugare, Mannina Doni and scores of others. He recently made a comeback in the the film 'Ambi Ninge Vayassaytho’.
He had also served as state minister and had recently quit from active politics and was eagerly waiting for his son's debut movie 'Amar’ to release.
As an actor, he has been awarded with state film awards on a couple of times including from neighbouring state. A close friend of many renowned actors and politicians and personalities from other fields, shared a special great bonding with his late friend and actor Dr. Vishnuvardhan.
Shocked by the sudden news, the entire Kannada film industry is mourning it's best actor who has always been the best friend who would help the needy in his own style. The Kanwarlal from Anata will be missed dearly.
