Gurunandan's 'First Rank Raju' recently completed 100 days and the team celebrated the success, by handing over the trophies to artistes and technicians who have worked for the film.

'First Rank Raju' 100 days celebrations was held at the Chowdaiah Memorial Hall on Monday. Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Sa Ra Govindu and Raghavendra Rajakumar came over as chief guests and handed over the trophies

Jaijagadish, Vijayalakshmi Singh, Sudha Belawadi, Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar, Thomas D'Souza, Ba Ma Harish, Gangavathi Pranesh, Vinay Rajakumar, Ajay, Shashank, Gurunandan, Apoorva Gowda and others were also present at the occasion.

Producer K Manju has launched a new film with 1st Rank Raju actor Gurunandan playing the lead role. Dialogue writer Raghu Samarth will direct the film. Shooting the film will start in March. It will be a comedy film. Manju will thus produce two films simultaneously. His film with Yash is starting in February.

Manju said both are original films. The film with Gurunandan has been named Smile Please and it is a comedy. It will also star Anant Nag and Rangayana Raghu. The music director will be finalised today and composition work will begin in a few days.

Neha Patil has been roped in as one of the three heroines of Smile Please, the new film of Gurunandan, who shot to fame with 1st Rank Raju. The film is produced by K Manju and directed by dialogue writer Raghu Samarth.

Two more heroines will be finalised this week before shooting starts in March. Manju is keen on casting only Kannada heroines for the movie. It is a comedy movie and also stars Anant Nag and Rangayana Raghu. Meanwhile Anoop Seelin has been appointed the music director and he has already begun the work on the tunes.
