Actor Shivarajakumar said he has fulfilled his wife's wishes by letting her contest for the elections. Shivarajakumar was talking during the 'Belli Hejje' programme organised by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore.

When a fan of Shivarajakumar asked whether it was necessary for Geetha Shivarajkumar to contest and lose in the elections, Shivarajkumar said though he doesn't like politics, he has fulfilled his wife's wishes. 'My father didn't want politics. I also doesn't like politics. But as an husband I have fulfilled my wife's wishes and that is enough for me' said Shivarajakumar.

When one among the audience told that Shivarajakumar must get a Padmashri award for his contribution to the Kannada film industry, 'I don't want any awards. The claps of the audience is a big reward for me' said Shivarajakumar.

When asked about his opinion about the implementation of the Kalasa-Banduri project, 'It's not enough if the film industry join hands in the protest. Everybody must come and fight for the issue irrespective of caste and creed. Mainly the politicians must join hands for the fight irrespective of their parties' said Shivarajakumar.

The Kannada film industry has decided to stop all its operations on Saturday in support of the Karnataka Bundh organised by various pro Kannada organisations in Karnataka. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce had held a meeting recently and it was decided there to support the ongoing agitation by farmers.

It was decided that the entire industry will be participating the ongoing agitation on the 30th of July. Likewise, the industry will be closing down for a day on Saturday and will be participating in the rally from Town Hall to Freedom Park in Bangalore

Actors Shivarajakumar, Yash, Ganesh and others participated in the rally organised  in support of the Karnataka Bundh organised by various pro-Kannada organisations in Karnataka.

Apart from Shivarajakumar, Yash, Ganesh, Prem, Sadhu Kokila, Rangayana Raghu, Meghana Raj, Jaijagadish, Hema Chaudhary, Shruthi, Tara, Chiranjeevi Sarja, Pooja Gandhi, Roopika and others participated in the rally.The rally started from Town Hall in Bangalore and ended in Freedom Park
