Last month, Ravi Srivatsa had announced that he will be directing a biopic on former don Muttappa Rai titled 'MR'. The film was launched on Friday with much fanfare in Bangalore.
Producer turned MLA Muniratna, 'Duniya' Vijay, Ramu and others came over as chief guests and wished the team a huge success.
Ravi Srivatsa said it was his dream of directing a film on Muttappa Rai, but could not due to various reasons. Ravi said he also met Rai regarding this almost 20 years ago and narrated the script to him. However, things never fell in place and the film could not be made.
Now Ravi is planning to make a three part film on Rai and has started the first part. The first part will focus on Ravi Srivatsa's birth in 1952 to 1988, when M P Jayaraj was killed. Rajesh Nataranga will be seen in the role of M P Jayaraj, while Prashanth Sambargi and Aravind Rao will play the roles of Oil Kumar and Bekkina Kannu Rajendra respectively.
Producer Shobha Rajanna's son Deekshith will be seen in the pivotal role of Rai in the film, wile Soumya Menon is the heroine. Gurukiran will be composing the music, while Mathew Rajan is the cameraman.
