  • Babruvahana to be Released for Dr Rajakumar's Birthday

    Two years back Dr Rajakumar's evergreen hit 'Kasturi Nivasa' was released by K C N Mohan. This year his brother and producer K C N Chandrashekhar is all set to release Dr Rajakumar's another classic film 'Babruvahana' with technology on his birthday.


    'Babruvahana' was directed by Hunsur Krishnamurthy and the film was released 35 years back. Now K C N Chandru is all set to release the film in DI, DTS and 7.1 Surround Sound. K C N Chandru has announced that the film will be released during the occasion of Dr Rajakumar's birthday and the film will be hitting the screens on the 22nd of April this year.

    A Bengaluru has ordered the veteran filmmaker Dwarakish to pay a fine of Rs. 52.20 lakhs to producer K C N Chandrasekhar, failing which he is sentenced to undergo a simple imprisonment for a period of one year.

    The court has passed the orders after convicting the actor and producer Dwarakish, who has so far produced more than 50 films under his prestigious banner Dwarakish Chitra. He has been convicted under the Negotiable Instruments Act (Cheque bounce case) and sentenced him to pay Rs 52.20 lakhs as fine or face a simple imprisonment for one year in jail.

    The producer K C N Chandrasekhar had approached the court five years ago, accusing Dwarakish Chitra for failing to return Rs. 50 lakhs which was taken as loan by him towards producing a film. The cheque payment made by Dwarakish Chitra in favour of K C N Chandrasekhar had bounced and hence had registered the case.

    It is learnt that Dwarakish had taken loan towards producing the film 'Charulatha’ which featured national award winning actress Priyamani in the lead.

    It was a pleasant surprise for K M Veeresh editor of Chitraloka in the KFCC executive committee meeting on Friday evening. K M Veeresh is a producer member in the KFCC executive committee and was attending the meeting on Friday. 

    In the middle of the meeting all of a sudden producer Umesh Banakar announced the anniversary of Chitraloka.com! KFCC president Thomas D'souza, Dr Jayamala, KV Chandrashekar, B Vjayakumar, HD Gangaraju, Pramila Josai and other EC members honoured KM Veeresh.

    Dr Jayamala took permission and spoke about Veeresh and Chitraloka. She said Chitraloka is doing a fantastic job and is supporting Kannada film industry. "We should all support him in all ways and KFCC should take initiative to get him film advertisements. We should also talk to the government and get him support", she said.


    KV Chandrashekar said "Veeresh is humble from day one till date. Before starting Chitraloka he was taking photos and started Chitraloka when many did not know about internet."

    KFCC president Thomas Dsouza said all support will be extended to Chitraloka.

  • K C N Chandru Felicitated In Belli Hejje

    Well known film producer, distributor and exhibitor K C N Chandrashekhar shared his experiences in 'Belli Hejje' organised by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy at the Mahadeva Desai Auditorium in Gandhi Bhavan on Monday.

    K C N Chandru said that many producers are losing films because of not planning things. 'In those days, we never used to decide about the budget earlier. We used to do films for the sake of doing good films. That's why we used to win. But now, in spite of proper planning the budget, the producer is losing' said K C N Chandrashekhar.

    KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu, Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy president S V Rajendra Singh Babu, Information Director Vishu Kumar and others were present at the occasion.

    Well known film producer, distributor and exhibitor K C N Chandrashekhar is all set to share his experiences in 'Belli Hejje' organised by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy.

    The 'Belli Hejje' programme is organised at the Mahadeva Desai Auditorium in Gandhi Bhavan on 26th December at evening 5 PM. Apart from sharing experiences, a documentary on K C N Chandru will be presented before the audience.
