Challenging Star Darshan has arrived in Mandya to lend support to the farmers who are protesting against letting Kaveri water to Tamil Nadu.

Darshan said that water is being given for growing crops in TN while there is no water for drinking in Karnataka. He said that justice has been very wrong for Karnataka this time. The people of Karnataka are very open hearted. With this we have dragged a stone on our own heads, he said. Darshan said he was not just an actor from Bengaluru but also a farmer. I have eaten the salt of Mandya and I have to repay it, he said.

He said Mandya is his home and he does not need any security to visit it. Kaveri is our mother and we cannot tolerate injustice to it, he said.

The Kannada film industry has decided to support the bundh called by pro-Kannada activists regarding the Kaveri water issue.

Speaking to Chitraloka.com, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Sa Ra Govindu said that the industry has decided to close down all the activities on September 09th and will be supporting the bundh called by pro-Kannada activists.

Sa Ra Govindu said he will be coordinating with the other wings of the film industry regarding this and has asked support from all the different wings of the Kannada film industry.

One of the most awaited films of the year; Mungaru Male 2 is releasing on September 10th instead on as announced on September 9th. The change of date is because The Kannada film industry has decided to support the bundh called by pro-Kannada activists regarding the Kaveri water issue.

Director Shashank says since it's our Cauvery water issue we are supporting the Bundh and releasing the movie on 10th.
The film brings back the iconic film of 10 years ago Mungaru Male. Ganesh reprises the lead role. But there is bigger addition with Ravichandran playing his father in this film. In the earlier film Jai Jagadish played the role of Ganesh's father.

The Kannada film industry has decided to stop all its operations on Saturday in support of the Karnataka Bundh organised by various pro Kannada organisations in Karnataka. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce had held a meeting recently and it was decided there to support the ongoing agitation by farmers.

It was decided that the entire industry will be participating the ongoing agitation on the 30th of July. Likewise, the industry will be closing down for a day on Saturday and will be participating in the rally from Town Hall to Freedom Park in Bangalore

Kannada film producers who have started a hunger strike in the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce under the leadership of Jayasimha Musuri has decided to stop all the activities on the 18th of June, if their problems are not met.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce had held an emergency meeting on Friday evening and there it was decided to stop all the film related activities except exhibition on the 18th of June, if there demands are not met.

Meanwhile, actor Jaggesh who is also heading the committee (which deals producers problems concerning artistes) has written a letter to the Kannada Film Artistes Association to come to a conclusion by June 15th so that the producers don't take extreme steps.

Now the ball is in the Artistes Association court and it has to be seen what steps the association takes in the coming days.

Veteran pro Kannada activist and former Member of Legislative Assembly Vatal Nagaraj has come strong against the dubbing culture and has called for a film industry bundh on the 11th of March.

This time also, the Karntaka Film Chamber of Commerce will be staying out of the bundh because of legal problems. In the absence of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, other associations of the Kannada film industry mainly the workers union, Artistes Association and others will be participating in this rally.

Before the bundh, many pro-Kannada activists and dignitaries from the film industry will be holding a meeting on the 04th of March and will be deciding about the proceeding of the rally to be held on the 11th of March.

ಮಹದಾಯಿ ಕುರಿತ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ಎದುರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮಹದಾಯಿ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಹಲವರು ಬೆಂಬಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರಾದರೂ, ಒಂದು ಪಕ್ಷದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಡೆಯುವ ಹೋರಾಟ ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಎಲ್ಲ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡುವ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮೊಳಗಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಹೊರಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ.

ಮಹದಾಯಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಸೂಚಿಸಿ ಜನವರಿ 27ರಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಕಟ ಬಂದ್‍ಗೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ವಾಟಾಳ್ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪರ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಬಂದ್‍ಗೆ ಕರೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ಫಿಲಂ ಚೇಂಬರ್ ಕೂಡಾ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದೆ. ಆ ದಿನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಸಹಾ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಫಿಲಂ ಚೇಂಬರ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸಾ.ರಾ.ಗೋವಿಂದು. 

ಅಂದಹಾಗೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಜನವರಿ 28ರಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮೋದಿ ಬರುವ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಮುನ್ನ, ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಗೆ ಮಹದಾಯಿ ವಿಚಾರ ತಲುಪಿಸಲೆಂದೇ ಈ  ಬಂದ್‍ಗೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಂದಹಾಗೆ ಬಂದ್ ಒಬ್ಬರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಗೋವಾ ಸಿಎಂ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ರಾಜಕೀಯದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ. ಒಂದು ಪತ್ರ ಕೈ ಸೇರಿದ ನಂತರ, ಅದನ್ನು ರಾಜಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಷ್ಟೇ ಬಳಸಿ, ಹೇಗೋ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದ ಒಂದು ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ. ಎರಡೂ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಟೀಕಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲೇ ಕಾಲಕಳೆದ ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ. ಹೀಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧವೂ ಈ ಬಂದ್ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ.
