Pooja Gandhi who is always referred as the ‘Male Hudugi’ (Rain Girl) of the Kannada film industry started her career by acting in soaps. She had acted in ‘Zameen Se Aasman Tak’ directed by Aruna Irani. Pooja made her entry to Kannada cinema with Yogaraj Bhatt’s ‘Mungaru Male’ which created a record of sorts in the Kannada film industry. The film ran for more than one year and there was no turning back for the actress.
After ‘Mungaru Male’, Pooja went on to act in films like in ‘Kodagana Koli Nungitta’, ‘Krishna’, ‘Milana’, ‘Buddivanta’, ‘Taj Mahal’, ‘Dandupalya’, ‘Hosa Prema Purana’, ‘Huchchi’, ‘Jai Hind’, ‘Kalyanamasthu’ and others. She got special recognition for her role in the film ‘Dandupalya’ and her performance was appreciated by everyone.
‘Abhinetri’ marks the debut of Pooja Gandhi as a producer to Kannada film industry. Not only Pooja is acting in a very special role in this film, but also producing the film. Pooja Gandhi has also dubbed for this film for the second time after ‘Dandupalya’.
This is Satish’s official first film as a director and before this Satish had directed a film called ‘Kelade Nimageega’. Though the film was launched in a big way, the film underwent a lot of problems. During this time, Satish thought of doing a film on an actress and went on to pen the story and screenplay of the film.
Before narrating the story to Pooja Gandhi, Satish was very apprehensive whether, Pooja would like the story or not? Not only Pooja liked the story and accepted to act in it, but also gave a nod to produce it. Satish is very happy that the film has turned out what he has dreamt before the shooting.
Manomurthy is one music director who is known for melodious songs. Manomurthy made his debut in Kannada film industry with Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar’s ‘America America’ and the songs of the film were huge hits. The duo continued working in films like ‘Nanna Preethiya Huduga’, ‘Olave Jeevana Lekkachara’, ‘Amruthadhare’, ‘Mathad Mathad Mallige’ and others.
Meanwhile, Manomurthy scored music for Yogaraj Bhatt’s ‘Mungaru Male’ and the songs of the film were super-duper hits. Manomurthy became the most wanted music director of this time and he went on to compose music for films like ‘Cheluvina Chittara’, ‘Milana’, ‘Ee Bandhana’, ‘Manasaare’, ‘Pancharangi’, ‘Lifeu Ishtene’ and others. Most of the films he composed during this time were hits.
When Pooja Gandhi planned to produce ‘Abhinetri’, naturally
her first choice for the music director was none other than Manomurthy.
Manomurthy has composed five songs for this film and one speciality is all
the songs are sung by Shreya Ghoshal. Shreya who had come to the audio release
of the film as a special guest opined that the album is very special to
her and is almost like a personal album. Shreya Ghoshal thanked Manomurthy
for giving an opportunity to sing songs which is musically rich.
