‘SHOCKED’ SAAKSHI REPLIES
I Tried To Save HIS Reputation

After a weeklong controversy surrounding her Saakshi Shivanand in an apologetic tone she has expressed her deep agonies over the ‘double’ role and the fear running in her mind explains everything. Paid as much as Rs.10 lakhs for the ‘Sanika’ to play the lead role Saakshi dropping a ‘Joke Bomb’ has created utter chaos. 
Chitraloka contacted Saakshi at present shooting in Kundapara from Bangalore over telephone and procured an interview. 

Throughout the interview she refers to the ‘shock’. What is that shock, why she was shocked is not explained clearly. 

She began the telephonic conversation like this:

I did not know that a person who had come to the shooting spot was a journalist. No body introduced him to me. He was talking with Yogeshwar. I thought he is his friend of him. While talking casually Yogish asked me how is it that I look different in each film. I told him it’s my twin sister. Actually I was joking with him. The person sitting next to Yogish told me that the programme in a Television channel was good. Then I told him it’s my twin sister who took part in the programme. Even this is also joke. Then that fellow asked few questions and told him I am doing a double role in a film. He asked me for the photographs. My assistants gave him two photographs of mine thinking he is asking the photographs for my double role acting in the film I am doing. It was not myself, but it was my assistants who gave the photographs.

For the questions asked by Chitraloka, Saakshi’s reply is as follows:

At least next day when we came there you know that we are journalists. You could have told the real facts?
I was disturbed by the previous day’s incident. I was not in the mood to comment. So I did not talk. When you all asked me I just told whatever I have to say I have told it to Yogish. Even then I had not talked about my twin sister. What ever I had told to Yogish it was a joke. But he took it seriously and did not realize it was a joke. The same thing he told it to journalists who had come to Kundapura.  More over I did not know that press was coming there that day. I was shocked to see press. I did not know what to talk. Already he had told the incident to you people. I was afraid. He is a MLA and an actor. If I talk about it then, I thought his reputation would go down. First of all I was in a shock.

But next day night in your room you gave me (K.M.Veeresh) the photographs telling it was your sister photograph. You knew that I am from the press

I am telling you I was in a shock. When you came there and asked for the photograph I blindly gave the photograph to you. And when you asked me is it your sister’s photograph I told yes. But I did not know that it would be so serious. It was my photograph only. I joked to you. Even I’m a human being can’t I joke in the set’s. Now even the unit persons are not believing me.

But you are saying it was a joke. But your mother is saying it’s Yogish publicity gimmick.?
My mother did not know what has happened.  She was upset about the paper reports.

Are you happy about the coverage you are getting from this controversial issue?
Definitely not happy. Who likes this type of publicity. It’s my prestige question here. I don’t want it to go down in my career. I can’t lie. But only thing is that I joked and it’s very sad that everything has happened just because of the misunderstanding and the language problem.

What’s your stand now?
I’m in a shock. I don’t know. Everything is going wrong. I will be going to Hyderabad on 9th after this schedule. You please clear everything. I am not able to talk to everybody.

This is the telephonic conversation made to Saakshi. One thing to say is that, Saakshi herself had told that she saw my photographs, which was published in Roopatara Kannada film magazine. Her persons who knew Kannada had taken it to her. She herself accepted on 1st March afternoon that her persons know Kannada.

What is surprising is that, whey she was in shock. Why she should tell lie when she gave the photograph telling that it is her sisters?  Is it not a joke `Saakshi telling that her assistants gave the photographs to Dr. Sudhakar Nambiar without knowing to her. How can an assisatant take so much liberty to give anything to any person without telling to the concerned persons. When Saakshi tells that she did not know Dr. Sudhakar Nambiar was there as journalist, then why did she give the photographs to me and tell lie. She is repeating the same old words that `she was shocked to see the journalist’s. Is this the first time she is facing the journalist’s? Doesn’t she know when and where to joke? Is she so illiterate? Does she think she can fool the journalist?
