ABUSE ON RAJKUMAR
Sathyu Creates Commotion

‘M.S.Sathyu has created ‘Garam Hava’ (his film of yesteryears) in Bangalore today by abusing Dr.Rajkumar in an interaction program. ‘What is Dr.Rajkumar contribution? Dr.Rajkumar banner is making very bad films. His contribution is nothing addressed M.S.Sathyu in a function on Saturday evening. Sathyu spoke in English at a state government function and even told Dr.Rajkumar is keeping ‘Goonda’ persons behind him.

This has irritated the Kannada activist Rame Gowda. He stood up asked Sathyu to speak first in Kannada as this is a Karnataka government function and demanded that he should speak in Kannada. Sathyu continued with his statement that he is not ready to speak in Kannada. The onlookers watching this war of words were baffled. ‘Ye Neevenre yavatto ondu cinema maadi Dr.Rajkumar avara mele mathadthira….., went on the angered Gowda. Sathyu gave back saying I have right to speak. I am straightforward person. Kappanna the theatre activist came in the middle to control the situation.

It was ‘Maneyangaladalli M.S.Sathyu’ organized by Kannada and Culture directorate department at Nayana auditorium adjacent to Kannada Bhavan an interaction program with Sathyu the issue cropped up. 

But the commotion created by so called learned personality M.S.Sathyu has disturbed the minds of many. Dr.Rajkumar is the recipient of ‘Karnataka Rathna’ the highest award given by the government. How come a careless person like Sathyu did not know this? Even Kuvempu was also given this award along with Dr.Rajkumar. Said to be learned Sathyu should have know the consequences of making such statements. The reason to make this statement is that it was a government conducted function.

Why did the organizers of Government of Karnataka did not use commonsense? 

Meanwhile some of the dignitaries who spoke to Chitraloka on this matter expressed their unhappiness on the irresponsible and reckless statement made by Sathyu on Dr.Rajkumar. Firstly M.S.Sathyu has to tender an apology. Secondly he should be brought down from the chairmanship of Kannada film subsidy committee that is watching the 2003-2004 films for declaration of subsidy to Kannada films. When he is not interested in speaking our state language, how could he occupy the chair of subsidy committee for Kannada films is the instant opinion that has come to Chitraloka.
