 The
prominent PRO of Kannada cinema D.V.Sudheendra with 800
films to his credit has arranged a touching and tidy function
to felicitate the bigwigs on the occasion of 26th birthday
of his brainchild ‘Raghavendra Chitravani’. The two assistants
of Suddi Indra – Sudheendra – Venkatesh and Vasu worked
day and night to make the awards evenings very memorable.
Veteran journalist
the simple and humble P.G.Srinivasamurthy was crowned
the ‘Patrikaratna’. Famous production house Ishwari combines
head late Veeraswamy’s wife Pattamal was given the ‘Sadhenagala
Saradara’ crown. From this year director of ‘Yajamana’
late Seshadri award was announced. Ace director Sunilkumar
Desai was honored with this debut award.
Veteran journalist
A.S.Murthy conducted the whole show and no doubt he reminded
his own earlier days in AIR ‘Ondu Mathu’ days. The perfect
pick of words and rhythmic style of narration of Murthyavaru
was one of the few highlights of that evening.
The backbone
of DVS Ankalgi almost repeated the last year speech he
made in the inaugural address. Aralu Mallige Parthasarathi
the leading man in ‘Dasa Sahitya’ blessed DVS in his future
endeavour. Senior journalist Shyamasunder Kulkarni recalled
the 26 years of faithful service of DVS.
The cynosure
of all eyes Vishnuvardhana and Upendra also spoke. Vishnuvardhan
recalled his earlier days and complimented DVS for doing
wonderful job for most of his films. Vishnu also thanked
Pattammal Veeraswamy. It is the banner of Ishwari pictures
made Kumar as Vishnuvardhan Vishnuvardhan went 30 years
ago in his memory. Vishnu also complimented the effort
of journalist PGS and admired director Desai as a passionate
director. Upendra considered this function as the great
one because of greatest people assembled in the evening.
Producers
Soorappa Babu, Simhadriya Simha Vijayakumar, Kambalahalli
Munirathnam were present.
The award
winners were felicitated with a garland, trophy and a
shawl.
D.V.Sudheendra
has incurred heavy expenditure and made the awards evening
a memorable one.
