The
dazzling time has begun with the inauguration of national
level Cine Expo 2003. The much awaited Cine Expo 2003
has began in a colorful style at the Palace grounds in
Bangalore on Friday at 5.30 pm. There was a huge turnout
for the inaugural evening.
The Union
Minister Ananthkumar announced a grant of Rs.10 lakh each
from MP’s quota for Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce
and Kannada Cine Artistes Association building. Pointing
a sharp remark Ananthkumar disclosed that today a film
is difficult to run for 30 days and in such a juncture
this Cine Expo of national standards is planned for 30
days. Let the Sandalwood – the Kannada film industry,
grow to heights blessed the minister.
The
union government has kept Rs.5 crore fund for artistes
who are weak and feeble and recently given the industry
status to films. The union government has the intentions
of giving up-linking facility from India in the forthcoming
months disclosed the Union Urban Development Minister
Ananthkumar after inaugurating the Cine Expo-2003.
The dream
girl of yesteryears Hemamalini graced the occasion and
expressed her love for Bangalore and among a few cities
she likes Bangalore is one. She inaugurated the cultural
activities that have started with Dr.Suma Sudheendra troupe
Veena recital.
The
sitting MP and rebel star Ambarish thanked the Union Minister
for announcing the grant of Rs.10 lakh for the Artists
Association also. Ananthji has a good heart and is a lovable
person. His intention of meeting the Prime Minister under
my leadership for KFCC and development of Kannada film
industry is admirable Ambarish felt.

Rajkumar declared open the stalls at the expo, cine stars
Upendra, Sudeep, Darshan, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Thara,
Soundarya, directors, producers and film chamber committee
members were present at the gala inaugural evening.
