MASSIVE CROWD AT RALLY

The massive attendance of film industry personalities and fans of artists was a hectic five hours for the Karnataka Police. The protest rally got off to a start at Government Gas College to avoid the traffic jam on Kempegowda Road, Dr.Rajkumar and Member of Parliament cum actor Ambarish joined at the Mahatma Gandhi Statue and proceeded to Vidhana Soudha and submited a memorandum to Karnataka Chief Minister S.M.Krishna at 1.15 pm. Karnataka Film Chamber President, Smt. Parvarthamma, Jayamala, Shivarajkumar, Jaggesh, Ramesh, Thomas and other film personalites were there while presenting the memorandum to CM. They even presented the memorandum to the Governer of Karnataka.

There were slogans and placards in support of Government’s decision. The protestors shouting at the rally were advised by senior actor Shivaram. Actor Ramesh Aravind came down from Chennai to participate in the rally. Senior actors Ravichandran and B.C.Patil took strain in jumping the barricade to take part in the rally. Action director and actor Thriller Manju got in to a running vehicle to participate in the protest rally.

The large turn out of the crowd was also because they wanted to have a close look at their favorite stars. However this mammoth turn out expressed the strength and support of the film industry in the century old Cauvery water dispute.

Some persons went wild and they have damaged nearly 10 buses, cars, vans. Police have controled them and have stoped further casualties.
