 The
best actor and actress award money has been hiked by the
Karnataka government from the existing Rs.20000 to Rs.1
lakh and for the rest of the categories it has been hiked
to Rs.50000. The Karnataka chief minister N.Dharam Singh
announced this at a glittering state film awards for 2003-2004
on Saturday evening.
The
awards are given to the achievers in different departments
on behalf of the people of Karnataka said Chief Minister
Dharam Singh in his address. A separate function to honor
the national best actress Thara and Baraguru Ramachandrappa
for receiving the Guinness honors would take place soon
announced the CM. I know Shivrajkujmar from the young
age. Already we have received appreciation for ‘Sarthaka
Suvarna’ expressed the CM. We would soon introduce the
Anti Goonda Act. There is no point in honoring the Kannada
films and at the same time allowing video piracy the CM
made a timely announcement.
 This
is the Suvarna Yuga for Kannada films. The state government
has given plenty of benefits and a few more relief is
required said the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President
Gangaraju.
The
Karnataka government has done good job for the producers
and a very few policy decisions have to be announced felt
Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar.
 These
type of awards only give encouragement for all of us said
noted director T.S.Nagabharana on this occasion. This
is the third award from the state government I am receiving
and all the three films Om, Hrudaya Hrudaya and now Chiguridha
Kanasu are produced by my mother said Shivrajkumar. Best
actress award Radhika also thanked every one responsible
for this evening.
The
program began exactly at 6.30 pm when the CM of Karnataka
arrived at Ambedkar Bhavan. The CM also released the souvenir
on this occasion.
A
short circuit at the Ambedkar Bhavan put the entire audience
in commotion for a few minutes at 7.45 pm. The state awards
committee for 2003-2004 Vishwanath P.H and his team were
also honored on this occasion.
Srinivasa
Prabhu and Aparna conducted the two hours state awards
evening.
The
beauty of the whole evening was the clippings shown at
the backdrop when Jaya Bharatha Jananiye song was sung
on the stage. The cultural programs were given by Sneha
Nandagopal, Shadows team, Harsha and team.

done State government. Keep it up.
