Fumble
by State Award Committee
It’s
not Chaya, It’s Nanditha!
One
has to wonder what has happened to our State Award Film
selection committee. Think they won’t learn from the mistakes
from the past. Vadiraj headed team have repeated a major
blunder this time also!
There was
a flaw in the announcement. The winner of best female
playback singer has been announced as B R Chaya – (Rs.
5000 and Silver Medal) for Gandhada Gombe film song Bili
Bannada Gini…
But
it’s not B.R. Chaya. It has to be Nanditha. The fact is
that the film for which playback singer was announced
singer Chaya had not sung the song at all! All the
songs are sung by Nanditha, Musice Director is V. Manohar.
Once co-incidence is it was V. Manohar who pointed out
the State Award Committee mistake for the award given
to Chitra instead of Latha for the year 1999-2000.
However, Congratulations
to Nanditha from Chitraloka team.
One has to
pitty Vadiraj team! Because Gandhada Gombe film or the
audio cassette has not yet been released! Probably the
producer of this film B. Shrinivas might not have given
the complete details to the State Award committee. Srinivas
might had just applied for the awards, thinking that he
may not get the awards and may not have give the complete
details!
Another interesting
think is Gandhada Gombe is a remake film what chitraloka
learnt from it’s reliable sources. This is a remake of
Tamil film `Arangatram’ directed by K. Balachander!
Rule of the
committee says – No awards for remake films!
