In
Memory Of Founder Mr Mallappa

 The
leading mega portal Chitraloka
has instituted an award for best cinema photographer from
next year in memory of key inspirer of Chitraloka late
Mallappa, father of Chitraloka Editor K.M.Veeresh. This
was announced at the 3rd year award celebration presentation
of 27years old Raghavendra Chitravani by Mr.D.V.Sudheendra,
the leading PRO of Kannada cinema with 777 films to his
credit. The award would be given in the name of Mr Mallappa
consist of cash award of Rs.5000. In the next year award
celebration Mr Sudeendra also announced the honor for
renowned playback singer S.Janaki. In his inaugural address
DVS also added that giving away awards every year is a
very small contribution of him to the Kannada film industry.
A
TIDY AND SIMPLE CELEBRATION
The third year
Raghavendra Chitravani awards for three persons – Mr Siddalingaiah
(Nirdeshaka Rathna), Dwarakish (Nirmapaka Rathna) and
Shyamasunder Kulkarni (Patrika Rathna) were given away
on 12th June at Hotel Chalukya in Bangalore was very well
attended.
Superstar
Vishnuvardhana, actress Jayamala, producer Ankalgi, Editor
of Samyuktha Karnataka Mr Jayasheela Rao occupied the
dais with the award winners.
After the
invocation song by Shuba the dignitaries lighted lamp
to begin the award presentation.
Dwarakish
the veteran remembered the urge in D.V.Sudheendra and
his journey so far is possible only because of the blessings
of Sri Raghavendra Swamy he felt. I have not achieved
anything in my profession of 40 years. I only did my work
with devotion added Dwarakish in his speech.
Veteran director
Siddalingaiah receiving the award remembered his early
days in cinema and how he grew in his life with the help
of noted comedian T.N.Balakrishna. Shyamasunder Kulkarni
has cleared the confusion whether he has to accept the
cash cover given to him with two anecdotes. That was really
interesting.
S.V.Jayasheela
Rao felt happy because he has been sharing the dais with
a top persons like Vishnuvardhana and Jayamala. He quoted
an incident that related to one’s ‘Yoga’ in life. In her
address Smt.Jyamala felt the need of publicity of Kannada
films in the range of Hindi films.
 The
cynosure of all eyes superstar Vishnuvardhana hoped that
the next year award celebration would be in a more grand
way. There is pleasure in sharing. D.V.Sudheendra does
his work with devotion and satisfaction. He has the right
Samskara to come to this stage. I pray god for more strength
to him added superstar Vishnuvardhana.
In just one
and half an hour the award celebration got over without
any hassles. A special momentum was attractive. A shawl,
garland and fruit basket was also given to the award winners.
The President
of Kannada film PRO’s association Mr Nagendra garlanded
D.V.Sudheendra and praised him for his flawless service.
He also urged DVS to take the services of remaining PRO’s
from the next year awards presentation.
Veteran in
the field of theatre and journalism A.S.Murthy was yet
another attraction at the award celebration. That’s because
of his anchoring the awards presentation with his inimitable
voice. His time sense in choosing the right words for
the right persons at the right time was another highlight.
