Is 'Bhavashilpi'

The
second consecutive year film awards by popular monthly
film magazine ‘Hello Gandhinagar’ was held in a tidy and
simple style. Congratulations to the editor of the film
magazine Nandakumar and his wife Varalakshmi for organizing
a neat function. The arrangements, trophies made the cultural
programs were much better than the recent Karnataka State
film awards held at Tumkur. The electrifying hero of Kannada
cinema Upendra bagged the best actor for ‘Raktha Kanneeru’
while the sweet looking heroine Abhirami clinched the
best heroine award for her performance in ‘Laali Haadu’.
Shivrajkumar, Darshan and Sudeep were given special award
for their performances in Chiguridha Kanasu, Namma Preethiya
Ramu and Swathi Muthu respectively.
The superstar
of Kannada cinema vivacious Vishnuvardhan was bestowed
with a silver crown a shawl, an idol of lord Krishna,
fruit basket, garland and plaque besides honoring with
a new title ‘Bhava Shilpi’. This is the right crown for
the right actor. The pet friend of Vishnuvardhana the
sitting Member of Parliament Ambarish honored Vishnu.
Bharathi and Jayanthi were also on stage at this glittering
moment.
The rebel
star Ambarish and Jayanthi were given the life time achievement
award by the Hello Gandhinagar film magazine.
Speaking on
the occasion Vishnuvardhana said the award of ‘Bhavashilpi’
on his shoulders made him heavy. The sculptors in my life
are many and without God showering blessings and fans
rain of applause this would not have been possible he
said.
Director S.Narayan
speaking after receiving the best director award said
the awards are like tonic. Darshan was immensely happy
for receiving special award. Abhirami receiving the award
thanked the film magazine for giving her maiden award.
My first photo appeared in Hello Gandhinagar film magazine
and my first award in life is also from the same magazine.
I am grateful to this award said the best upcoming actor
award winner Murali of ‘Chandra Chakori’ fame.
Prior to the
award distribution function the Kannada and culture minister
Rani Satish, Legislative Council member S.M.Shanker, KFCC
President S.Ramesh, T.Rajanna, secretary of legislative
Assembly, Vishnuvardhana lighted the lamp to mark the
beginning of the function.
The list of
award winners are like this – G.Murthy art direction,
Thriller Manju stunts, Editing S. Manohar, Camera P.K.H.
Das, Dance Nadeem Khan, female playback singer Lakshmi,
male playback singer Gurukiran, music director Hamsalekha,
dialogues Upendra, screenplay Sunilkumar Desai, story
Ajaykumar, comedian Komal, supporting actress Bharathi
Vishnuvardhana, supporting actor Ananthnag, upcoming director
Prem, upcoming actress Ramya, upcoming actor Murali, child
actor Master kishen, cine journalist A.S.Murthy, PRO Nagendra,
first best film Chiguridha Kanasu, 2nd best Chanda Chakori,
3rd best Preethi Prema Pranaya, best film maker Shivanandam
for ‘Mouni’, producer Rockline Venkatesh, best film making
Hollywood were also honored at the crowded Chowdaiah Memorial
Hall in Bangalore on Friday evening.
Although there
was thin attendance from the film industry it was a successful
function. The wonderful conduct of the show by Aparna
and Naveen Krishna was a real treat. The film journalists
and artistes/technicians combine to give away the awards
was unique. There were plenty of cultural programs from
Gurukul team, Murali and team, Kiran Kumar and team. Rajesh
Brahmavar and team, Ganesh and Team, Naveen Krishna and
team (with a message Love but not kill) and others.
Actor Srinivasamurthy,
Anirudh, producers Soorappa Babu, Shailendra Babu, Velu
of Lahari Recording Company Mohan of Ananad Auido were
also present at the glittering function.
