Theatre Turns PS In Jayanagar 4th Block

The corporation theatre named after the excellent director of Kannada cinema late ‘Puttanna Kanagal’ in Jayanagar 4th block behind the complex is a police station now. What a tribute to a marvelous director of Kannada cinema who was responsible for the golden era of Kannada cinema!

Fortunately the city corporation has given the closed Puttanna theatre to Jayanagar police station for a period of three months. Puttanna theatre was closed from 30th May, 2004. Chitraloka was the first portal to bring to light this development then. Till now the corporation has not taken any decision to resurrect it. It has not given permission for the stalwarts Vishnuvardhana and Ambarish to give a new facelift so that their mentor Puttannaji is given a tribute.

Now for a temporary period this Puttanna theatre has been Jayanagar police station till the original place of Jayanagar police station is reconstructed by BMR Groups at a cost of Rs.25 lakhs. To run the police station for a brief interval the corporation has taken a decision as the theatre come under its jurisdiction. The police department is eking out electricity supply for running the police station of Jayanagar at Puttanna theatre.

The Jayanagar Police station police inspector M.P.Shankaraiah disclosed the shifting of Jayanagar police station to Puttanna theatre to Chitraloka mega portal.

Today it is given for police station. What about in future? Already the corporation sat on the files of Puttanna theatre for 8 long months. When do the corporation give a new look to Puttanna theatre is the question remaining in the mind of innumerable people.
