IThe piracy has been found even in United States of America. The pirated Kannada films VHS and VCD’s have made a flood in the US market. 
 
In an e-mail received by this popular mega portal on 16th January, 2003 from the Kannada films ardent lover Mr V.Lakshmikanth some startling information have been found. Mr Lakshmikanth got two Kannada films ‘Huchcha’ and ‘Majestic’ Kannada films VCD’s in the New Indian Grocery Stores in Sunnyvale, California. Back home he found the atrocious quality of those two Kannada films print. Lakshmikanth could not find any information about persons doing it. There was no information also on the VCD label, no contact information too. VCD labels on top were printed in professional manner to look like original. Immediately Lakshmikanth reported about this piracy to the stores from where he bought. They could not do much on his complaint. Recording movie from Udaya, ETV Doordarshan Bangalore on VHS tape in SLP mode that reduces the quality is perhaps the system adopted by the piracy operators.
 
Price per movie VCD is 5 dollars. They do not ship internationally but only in the US. In another discovery made by this website there are 461 Kannada films sold in many parts of United States of America. 
 
Now it is up to the Kannada film industry to take action besides thanking Mr V.Lakshmikanth.
