The
scene at the audio piracy is as worst as the CD piracy.
We have reported about the raids conducted recently for
CD piracy. Now the huge ‘maal’ of pirated audio cassettes
were seized at Kalasipalya go downs in Bangalore.
The audio
houses of Akash and Ashwini took lead in recovering this
malpractice and they were stunned to note several things.
What is not possible in the industry – the combination
of two different company audio- cassettes in one audio
album was traced. Appu and Nagarahavu owned by Akash and
Ashwini or Jhankar were seen in one album in the pirated
lots. combinations like, Nanu Nanae-Ninagagi, Nagarahavu-Simhadri
Simha, Nagarahavu-Dhruva, Nagarahavu-Kottigobba, Superstar-Yuvaraja,
Appu-Yekangi, Dhruva-Lovu You.... etc. Nearly 10000 pieces
of such pirated albums were seized along with the duplicate
inlay cards.
The main Person
is Altaf who is pointed as the King-pin of Karnartaka
doing this duplicate cassettes was arrested by Kalasipalyam
police station. Police with the support of audio company
have raided nearly 10 gowdans all belonging to Altaf.
Nearly 18 of them are arrested says Ashwini Ramprasad.
It was Kanakapura
Srinivas who was most upset about this piracy. He was
shocked that his latest movie songs has been pirated.
Direcot Indrajith was also present in the raid. Even though
Sa. Ra. Govind and Rockline Venkatesh were not there in
Bangalore, they were enquiring about this massive audio
raid.
All pirated
cassettes were priced at Rs.10. When the audio houses
pay huge sums in gaining the audio rights to the producers
of films and price their album ranging from Rs.20 to 60.
With such a staggering piracy coming to notice all the
audio houses in Bangalore are baffled. Kalaipalyam police
inspector Ajjappa have registered a complaint and is enquring
the cuplrits.
