1 Crore Worth CD’s Seized

 In
a massive raid conducted by prominent personalities of
Kannada film industry Rockline Venkatesh, Basanthkumar
Patil, Munirathna, Naresh, Suresh, Sa.Ra.Govindu and Akash
Audio officials Rs. 1 crore worth nearly 1 crore CD’s
have been seized with the help of Upparpet police.
Perhaps this
is the first major raid with Kannada film industry personalities
was conducted and a new trend has been set.
 The
raids were conducted on two days and top films like Baaba
(Tamil), Kannada films like Appu, Diggajaru, Chandu, Nanna
Preethiya Hudugi, Sri Manjunatha and many filthy CD’s
were recovered from various places.
Yesterday
the raid was made in Nelamangala on a tip and then the
team proceeded to Dobaspet and got a link to Tumkur where
`Karnataka Video’ is situated. In Bangalore the raid was
conducted in Mahaveera Plaza. The proprietor Ramachandra
escaped. In Hira Plaza at National market and Burma Bazaar
the proprietor Hira was missing. Producers through their
link came to a small building at 12 cross Akkipet. With
the help of the Upperpet police Producers raided the building.
On the terrace of the building they were shocked to see
piracy going on. Most of the released and unreleased film
master CD’s were there. There were four computers, scanners,
printer… etc were there. In one computer there were 7
CD copiers. In a small place less than 10x10, CD converter
Vinod Kumar Jain was caught. He accepted his mistake and
told that he is doing this from past six months. Earlier
he was in Mumbai learning Macromedia.
Besides Kannada
films there were many Hindi films like Soch, Mujhse dosti
karoge! Devdas, English, Tamil, Telugu films recovered
in the pirated CD form
