LATHAJI SING 'PEBI' SONG
Prem/Rakshita Marriage?

The pride of playback singing of this country Latha Mangeshkar to sing the title song of 'Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe' and director Prem will be singing along with the doyen. Lathaji will be flying down to Bangalore or the song will be recorded in one of the prestigious studios of Mumbai. In the yesteryears Lathaji had sung a Kannada song Bellane Belagaayithu……., for the film 'Kranthi Veera Sangolli Rayanna' in 1967.

While all others really struggling to catch up with director Prem for various issues Chitraloka spoke to him over telephone.

Excerpts of an interview conducted by K.M.Veeresh:

Why are you escaping from meeting the callers on you?
I never do that. I was extremely busy in the film 'PEBI'.

When is PEBI launching?
It is going on the floors on February 14th - Valentine Day. `I am floating Dreams Corporation Ltd.' PEBI will be jointly produced with Krishnaprasad of Ashwini Recording company (producer of Jogi Film). The heroine selection is in progress. Jennifer or a Kannada heroine will be playing the lead.

Mr Prem I would like to come straight to the top gossip in Kannada filmdom?
The news written by some newspapers that I am getting married to Rakshita is cooked. My marriage will be announced on the day of 'PEBI' completes shoot. I went to Rakshita residence quite a few times because Mamata Raoji is playing an important role.


But you are having meeting with Rakshita quite frequently?
I do not deny or accept the rumor. I have been receiving phone calls and even Ambarish Anna has advised me to keep quiet and not to scratch my head. I am getting letters that says I should not get married till I complete PEBI.

You are not confirming your marriage….

"Nimma Paadhake Bilthini" - please do not write anything about it. Allow me to complete PEBI peacefully. I will not hide and get married. My mother has also told me not worry about the write up in newspapers and tabloids.

What are the other highlights of PEBI?
The song recording under the direction of R.P. Patnayak begins on 14th of February. The actual shooting begins on 24th of February 2006.

When you intend to complete the shooting?
You are trying to track when I am going to announce my marriage.

No. Not like that. PEBI release I am just thinking?
In three months I hope film will be ready.
