Once
again director Om Prakash Rao has set a dangerous trend.
Last time noted producer Ramu had to apologise for a song
this director picked from a Tamil film in 'Kalasipalya'
Kannada film. Picking scenes from various films and making
a film has been the normal practice of Om Prakash Rao.
This time director Rao who is also the producer of the
film 'Mandya' has cleverly picked the climax shots of
Telugu film 'Sambha' (starring NTR Junior) and affixed
in the climax of 'Mandya' starring Darshan, Rakshita and
Radhika in lead roles.
According to Chitraloka sources it seems Rao has given
a few lakhs and obtained the climax shots for his 'Mandya'
that was released all over Karnataka last week. For the
same concept of shots (some shots Om Prakash has shooted
to match) the expenditure would be not less than Rs.20
lakhs. But Rao obtained the same clippings by paying a
few lakhs.
Is
this the right trend or attitude? No says the hub of film
activity Gandhinagar.
Actress cum producer Jayamala is furious about this attitude
of Om Prakash Rao. If he has done it, it's a great mistake.
Today it is a few shots, tomorrow it would definitely
increase. This trend is dangerous and this has to be put
an end at this stage she strongly observes speaking to
Chitraloka mega portal.
This
is nothing but the dubbing of scenes that are technically
different and that cannot be redone in Kannada because
of the market limitations. Om Prakash Rao has done another
mistake by not obtaining the 100 percent tax exemption
certificate for the film from the government before the
release of the film. In this acquisition of 100 percent
ET letter he has to mention that so and so stock shots
he has used. There is permission for using events as stock
shots in any feature film but not the shots from other
languages.
In the past ace director Priyadarshan's film 'En Hudgiro
Yaaking Adtharo' (starring Tabu, Jyothika and others)
shot in Mysore and surroundings initially claimed as Kannada
film. This film got released in other languages with some
other title. The Kannada version is not yet released.
When the subsidy issue came up in that particular year
the producer of the film claimed it as a Kannada film.
The authorities saw the film and had a doubt. Some of
the comedy scene clippings are original and rest was dubbed.
That was not agreed upon and the entire film was asked
to screen. In that nearly 90% of the dubbed version was
there. Still that producer person who had come there was
saying `you can take that 90% as stock shots' says the
sources to chitraloka.
The timely query from the government side set aside the
film and subsidy of Rs.10 lakhs was not given to it.
Growth at the cost of morality is disgusting..
