Report by - CNB                                                        Date - 10th February  2003

Yet another money saving tactic for the Kannada film producers has been evolved by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce in its meeting on Monday at 12 noon.

From March 2003 the advertisements in newspapers have been limited to 1/4th page at one time irrespective of color or black and white. The popular newspapers publishing the Kannada film advertisements would be consulted to print the film advertisements in all its editions. Even the tariff rate would be discussed to help the producers says the KFCC sources to Chitraloka.

Drawing attention on the visual media the two hours meeting also focused on the need of bioscope type of publicity what is found in Telugu and Tamil films. The channels should support the Kannada film industry without charging any money. The KFCC has also asked to reduce the publicity in visual media to three minutes from the existing pattern and style the channels are maintaining.

Noted producer Rockline Venkatesh who has finished his first Tamil film had called up Rajendra Singh Babu from Mysore and brought to the notice that just Rs.45000 is spent for paper advertisement from the start to finish of the film in Tamil Nadu. Where as in Kannada we would have spent Rs.5 to 6 lakhs.
