Poornima Mohan Picks One More

The stylish and modern director in the women fraternity today Poornima Mohan has picked up her second film to direct. This time she has picked 'Bhale Jodi' – Dr.Rajkumar and Bharathi starring film that was released in 1970 – directed by veteran Y.R.Swamy. This is of course another proved subject. With this the dual role films has started once again after Malashri in 'Rani Maharani'. This is definitely going to be another feather in the cap of Poornima Mohan.

Poornima Mohan in a chat with Chitraloka editor disclosed that she is keeping the contents of the film and directing it to meet the present day requirements. What the icon of Kannada cinema has done in those days will be played by Rakshita. After the release of 'Julie' Kannada film starring Ramya and Dino Morea my second directorial venture film 'Bhale Jodi' (we have registered the same title for the film) would go on the floors says Poornima.

The last dual role by a heroine in Kannada was 'Rani Maharani' in which Malashri played the two key roles. Malashri played eight roles in one her films 'Putmalli' after that. Prior to this among the heroines in the black and white days it is top actress Jayanthi who did several dual role films like Jaya Vijaya, Chakra Teertha, Thayigintha Devarilla, Vijay Vikram, Mannina Magalu etc. Actress Bharathi played six different roles in 'Gandondu Hennaru', B.Sarojadevi played dual role in 'Lakshmi Saraswathi, Kalpana in 'Kappu Bilipu' Saritha in Jeevakke Jeeva, Lakshmi in 'Kiladi Jodi', Thulasi in 'Indina Ramayana', Sripriya in 'Mariya My Darling' etc.

'I am a confident director now' says Poornima. Julie my debut has shaped up very well and being in the filmy family has helped me a lot to know. Ramya has contributed very well for the film and she has become crazy about the film songs remembered Poornima. When our banner stopped for 12 years to produce a film it is with my subject and compulsion the film 'Viyayadashami' was started. It was released in all the south Indian languages and earned good results for the investment recalls Poornima.
