Chitraloka mega portal has discovered a major misappropriation involving American Kannada Koota (AKKA) the Hampi University and a middleman. The highly reliable sources disclose that AKKA had promised to help for Kuvempu Samagra Kruthigalu in association with Hampi Kannada University after taking rights from Poorna Chandra Tejaswi the son of Kuvempu. The then President Jayaswamy of AKKA promised to collect Rs.10 Lakhs for this purpose.

What happened later is the scandal that was in the cupboard all these years. AKKA authorized a person to collect the money and to give it to Hampi University. That person has collected few lakhs but till now has not deposited it to the proper place. 

Just one week ago the Registar of Hampi University Mr. K.V. Narayan while talking to press persons said that the University has not received even single paisa towards this project from AKKA. Now the book is printed. Credit line has also been given to AKKA.

When lot of e-mails was sent to AKKA by Hampi University, it seems AKKA responded that `they have authorized a person to give the amount to university. If he does not give then AKKA will definitely give the amount as promised'.

Now AKKA has to answer who was the person whom they authorized to collect money? How much money was collected? Why it was not paid to the book published in the project?

A scandal coming out from the cupboard at the crucial juncture of Vishwa Kannada Sammelana at Detroit in the last week of August has become a prestigious issue for AKKA and its members. AKKA has reached a pathetic position and putting its head down for just one person’s ‘Kirik’ creating controversies. 

This is something more than controversies. Besides money the fame of AKKA is at stake.

This article is not the defame AKKA. Chitraloka has high regards to AKKA and to the service what they are doing. Just because of one person mistake all the hard work which they have done till now should not go waste.
