It is like securing high distinction in SSLC and passing out in just first class in II PUC. This suits aptly for debutant director Ravi R.Garani for his 'Shubam' – the beginning. It is high distinction marks for his first half and to a few reels after in the second half. This is because of unexpected yet acceptable twists and turns in it. The film for the last 15 minutes it is gory. Perhaps the height of love has taken the lovers to such a situation.

Everything is given to director Ravi R Garani by the producer N.R.Shetty. He has worked hard. He has made it different to look on the screen. His narration technique is simply spectacular. But why did he develop the unusual and unacceptable last 15 minutes – especially after the protagonist is brutally beaten to his head.

The acting department, cinematography, technique and the music has contributed very well for shaping up of the film. The using of superstitious belief is also convincing and it adds further weight to the screenplay.

Now the story for you:

Priya is kidnapped by Venki. He is the dense forest with her. Priya's brothers have sent a team to trace their sister in the forest. Priya after developing 'pyaar' comes back to her house. But when her brothers are about to kill Venki she says she wants to marry him and she loves him immensely. Siblings agree to sister proposal. Then starts the one after the other turns. Venki is married and he is with a kid. Venki's friends decry his attitude. Venki explains that he just wanted to teach her a lesson and discard Priya. Venki has done it like that because he has a brain tumor says doctor. But that is not true says another one. Then the further shady deals of siblings open up. The siblings have chalked out the plan very effectively to see that Venki is evaporated and their sister is got married to an imponent. But the grandfather in the family opposes to this and he pays the penalty. When elder of three is said he is wrong by his wife she is also taught the wrong lessons for right attitude.

What is the worry you might be wondering. The flashback once again comes on screen. The forecast of a yogi that the sister in the house delivers a baby it is the end of the brothers. That is the reason why the brothers hatch a strong plot. When the three mousquitoes find it is going to be tough with their sister getting married to Venki they try to kill Venki. The baddies feel Venki is dead but he is in the hospital with memory loss. Priya knows all these developments from her sister in law who is in ICU and then she struggle hard to save Venki from virtual death.

How Priya saves Venki in the most pathetic condition. How the baddies attack. Who is alive and who is dead. You have to watch it on screen.

Shivadwaj and Sanjitha excel with wonderful screen presence. Both of them have done very well. Sanjitha is the best among the imported heroines to Kannada. Among the three brothers it is Kishore who strikes from his fearful eyes. Pavitra Lokesh presence gives a new turn to the film. Serene and sensitive in her role is Pavithra and Vanitha Vasu.

Three of Gurukiran's songs are very melodious and catchy. Another hero of the film is cameraman R.Giri. The forest and river surroundings and the interiors in day and night looks delectable in his camera work.

Technically the film is in the front. The background scoring and mixing is good. Nagendra Urs editing is very good. The background score and optical work for the film adds up to the quality of the film.

N Films has made a very good attempt to remain different from the usual run of the mill films.

This is worth more than your ticket price. Go watch it.
