The reason for coining the headline for this film as 'Ramya Chaitra Kaayi' – we have two reasons – firstly 'Kaayi' (Thengina Kaayi – coconut) is playing a major role and secondly 'Kaayi' means 'unripe, nut' also suits the film because there is no fruit in the climax of the film.

We do not try to tell you the three climaxes you find in this wholesome family entertainer. Even though the length is a laxity of this cinema you have to watch for the several beautiful elements in the film. Besides this you would have a picnic to places Sirsi, Yaana, Gokarna, and Sathodi Falls etc. The lush green always treats your eyes.

Desai has done it again. He has done it in excess of course cannot be ruled out. The shades of his earlier films also pass through your memory. Yet the dexterity of the director is still in tact.

Desai the dream chaser always looks for novelty. He has done it here. Lots of fresh talents he has handled have not deprived the chances of a good cinema.

A clean and neat film with no usual gimmicks and 'longs' and 'bloodshed' you can view this film. The family audience of the yesteryears now glued to the television sets would definitely like this film.

Chenna (Sandeep) is the protagonist in the film. He is very innocent and has a good physical stamina. He comes to the help of everyone and he is mistaken for his innocence on many occasions. His favorite help is breaking the coconut from his head when someone in the village has taken an oath for their good. Chenna comes to their help and he breaks the coconut from his head. This is found in real life also. His innocence is checked by postmaster's daughter Shoba (Nanditha). She tries to groom Chenna but his sheer innocent love for Shoba shapes him up as a bridegroom. He is in love with her. The director brings in 'Papa Pragne' at this stage. She hands over the bride who was running away from a marriage hall by compulsion. Shoba without knowing it hand over this tribal girl to their parents. Shoba feels that she is responsible for the death of a bride when she comes to know about it.

On the other hand Shalini in love with Sudhakara (Rahul Inapura) are in tiff over what is love. At this situation Shoba asks Chenna to marry Shalini (Manasi). Shoba somehow feels that she is not fit to get married at any cost. But this is not liked by Chenna and his blind friend Jyothi (Reshma). On compulsion Chenna agrees for Shoba. But reels after Shalini got back Sudhakara? How did Shoba change her mind from 'Papa Pragne'? Whether Shoba and Chenna meet again? If they meet are they perfect in their patch up? You have plenty of questions in the last 40 minutes get answer.

In his debut as hero Sandeep is very convincing. He has that roughness and innocence packed in this film. At times we feel that he is what Kamal Hassan in 'Swathi Muthyam'. His character is typical. When he cleverly says he did not find 'Gejje' to Shoba and then shows the height of love when he gets the traces of it on his chest – it shows he is a clever and intelligent. However he has proved his mettle in his maiden film as hero. He is surely going to get noticed by the award committee.

Nandhita has done well at places but Prema was the right choice for Nandhita role. In front of Manasi – who is tall, good looking and passable on screen Nandita height do not match. Reshma as blind girl has nothing much to do.

What is splendid is the photography. Youngster Shymasunder has been inspired from yesteryear tunes in his scorings. Raja Hindustani and Hamsalekha tunes come to your memory.

This is a passable film..
